The only way that's not a penalty with the new rule is if he doesn't contact the player at all (or I suppose if the ref feels he was even with Draisatl, in which case it would be a penalty but not a PS).

Whether it's a good rule or not is another question, but with the rule the way it is, ref has basically no choice but to call that.

Oh, it was a penalty even though the new rule is kind of dumb. I didn't think Drai was clearly ahead of him when committing the penalty.
Regardless, it was a fun game to watch.
