I can only really talk about Finnish prospects, and from them I would say Kakko is definitely a top-10 prospect at the moment. Honka has good stats and seems like a dynamic defender, but lacks size. Kokkonen isn't really even a 1st rounder in my opinion.

Really big fan of this draft. Hughes will be a quality 1OA. Probably not elite, but PPG in the NHL. And then I see excellent depth throughout the top 10. There are probably like 15 top 10 picks, as of now.

Just a few comments on some of the players listed.

I absolutely do not see Vlasic as a first round pick next year. I'd be surprised if he's a second round pick either. The stat sheet doesn't really match the shift to shift production. Not a particularly good skater, and he's not shutdown defensively nor great offensively for a bigger D. Bjornfot and Grewe don't look like anything more than fringe first rounders to me, either. I wouldn't make a big deal over what the Swedish U18 coach thinks in his decision making. From what I've watched, Holmstrom is the top forward, not Grewe, and Soderstrom is the top D, not Bjornfot.

Pelletier is a very good player, likely top 10 on offensive skill, but who was the last sub 5'10 forward drafted in the top 10? Knyazev doesn't look like an early first to me either, maybe a late first. Good player, but maybe not elite, like the early hype he got. Marshall Warren is similar in that regard. I've seen a lot of people list Kakko really high, and he's good, but I just question if he has a top 5 skill-set. He's an average skater, he's not a center, and while he's a very good scorer, I don't see any absolute standout ability, like Laine's shot, for instance.

I'm a bit of a homer on this one but I could see Lev Starikov of the Windsor Spitfires jumping up to the first round. He improved leaps and bounds as the season progressed, he went from the #6 guy to Windsor's #2. He's 6'6" and is mobile for his size, better than Stanley who a lot of fans compare him to. Not saying a top 10 guy, but no doubt a guy to keep your eyes on as the season progresses.

I would love to see someone put together a top30. The 2019 draft looks very interesting. I'm especially curious about all the WHL kids.

I'd say Honka and Nikkanen are comfortably above Kokkonen from finnish guys. I like Heinola better at the moment as well. Hopefully Mikko can have a good draft season to regain some hype.

Hischier's 2 way game is elite and Marner's below average. Offensively speaking, they are similar, Marner is older too.
unless you actually check....Marner was well above average in corsi/fenwick relatives , actually beating Hischier in both (while also playing on lines that were better possession lines than Hischier, so probably harder to have better relatives), as well as beating him in takeaways by a wide margin. Marner is a very good 2 way player at this point, and that was what he was billed to be.

Marner's outproduced Hischier by a fairly wide margin in both his years in the league. He's older, so Hischier deserves some more time before the comparison gets made negatively, but anointing him as the better player when the evidence says the opposite seems silly

Marner was a more prodigious player in junior, would definitely been in the conversation at #1 in last year's draft. Very easy to let "#1oa pick" skew your opinion, but remember that Marner's draft is being considered as the best of all time already and Hischier's draft was one of the weakest top 5's ever

Hischier plays a more important position, that's fair

I like this draft too. You know it’s deep when a 16 year who scored 30+ goals in his underage year in the OHL can’t crack most people’s top 10.

Imagine if Lafrenniere was born a month earlier

Very bold. Kokkonen is nowhere close to top 5, not even in the 1st round. Honka is good but probably a top-20 prospect.

20 games in Liiga with almost .5 ppg and +11. I think he is best offensive defenceman in this draft. I don't saw much players from this draft but what I saw from Kokkonen impress me he could be next Heiskanen.
