This lineup just sneaks in under the cap...

I would think a team trading their number one center would like to have a pretty good center returning in a package.

Classic trade proposal.

Take our trash for the best player available in the league.

Give me a break.....do you honestly expect that was gonna be it? That was how we afford the salary.
That was in addition to the original proposal of :

Hope he's saying Boston and forcing Sabre's hand...

Going to take some firsts and some quality players to make this trade.

2022 first
2023 2nd
Studnicka

The ask was how to make the salary work...

Classic reaction

Buffalo?

My concern with Eichel is shitty attitude and injury. He hasn't exactly set the world on fire either.

I keep Coyle and move on from Eichel.

Hall had the same shitty attitude and character concerns and he's been great in his short stint here and I believe most people are thrilled to have him going into this season. He might be a little bit more upbeat on a team not named Buffalo.

Do I think we can get Eichel? No. Do I want Eichel? Yes.

Also imagine how funny it'd be if Eichel and Hall killed it as a duo in Boston's system while they couldn't in Buffalo.

Sorry.

Guess I didn't read that correctly.

He doesn't have a NTC so it doesn't matter if he says Boston.

I heard somewhere maybe it kicks in next year?

It's a risk for both teams....his back....how bad is it? Team getting him could get damaged goods.... Buffalo could get screwed by him going somewhere and excelling, or by hanging on to him and being damaged goods......tough call for whatever both parties are involved....

His shitty attitude is entirely that he wants to play in Boston. It’s the same shitty attitude Hall had in Buffalo but without the NTC

He doesn't have a NTC so it doesn't matter if he says Boston.
It does to some extent though - kind of cools off other teams offers if they know he wants to be elsewhere

Im waiting to see if new Team Eichel takes a breach of contract avenue against the Sabres. Denying him his players choice 2nd opinion rights within the CBA.
Thereby declaring contract null and void.

That , if happened, would change everything.

now THAT could get interesting.....

Good post
Boychuk played what? Almost 5 full AHL seasons before getting "it", Quaider a few years too, now, obviously Vaak was a higher draft pick but I`m never shocked if and when a D-man takes time regardless of the round unless they are one of the special one`s
Yeah well IIRC they didn't get their brains scrambled prior to their NHL careers.

Oh my, I'd need to order a case of popcorn for that one.

This is something I have to learn more about.

I was under the impression that it was actually the Sabres organization that had the right to veto the surgery that they felt to be elective.

Not combating your statement, to be clear. This just adds a fascinating wrinkle to this saga. What a disaster it would turn out to be for Buffalo if they just lost Eichel straight up.
