I am not positives as f*** with this line up stanley cup chances.

It needs growth and polishing, a lot.

I just think its encouraging. I think the rebuild is well on his way. We already have some great pieces. We are trending jn the absolute right direction.

Thats it.

We do have some good pieces and we are accumulating high value prospects, which is good. But IMO, the offence is extremely speculative. The offensive prospects could all easily become 2nd-line nothing burgers or worse.

I think the proper way of putting it:

PLD has always romanticized about playing for the Habs, but when crunch time came, and he started thinking about all the burden that comes with being a francophone on the Habs…LAK was indeed the dream scenario.

Autonomy won out over romanticizing..

A burden for some is an opportunity for others.

I think RHP is ready for the challenge.

Completely agree with your rankings, but I would have Reinbacher ahead of Hutson. Only change I’d make.

Slaf definitely needs a reboot. Would be great if they could stack Laval with Slaf, Reinbacher, Farrell, Roy and the likes.
I too am all in for a packed Laval roster. Syracuse had that going on when they were rebuilding and I believe that’s a blueprint that should be followed.

In fact, it would be our first packed house since the Calder cup winning team.

I totally agree.

A lot is in the hands of Dach and Slafkovsky right now.

My hopes but i think it's kinda obvious, when these guys takes the next step (if they do first), in a year or two, all our bad contract will have ended (except gallagher) and we will be in a major position to strike a top dog UFA or be agressive on the trade market.

Of course he was always kicked in the face, too small, no chance, he’s trying to make it … just like MSL

But once Marty established himself, Habs were put on NTC..

Every time Button speaks he seems to get dumber, it is hilarious that he was able to surf the nepotism/old boy club wave all the way to GM defore being entirely exposed as a buffoon. I am not necessarily commenting on this post even though I think it is a poor list as he has the top 5 prospects correct but the order very wrong imo. When making such a list all you have to do is list them by trade value and that will steer the exercise towards a more objective conclusion and away from personal bias. For the utterly confused their bias will shape the lens from which they view trade value but most of us know when we are allowing our bias to supersede the truth.

I prefer to work in tiers anyways as linear, numbered rankings are wildly subjective and quite honestly not that interesting to myself. Nothing against @montreal as he is one of our most valued members and is just following the precedent that is most familiar with board members.

Good list, Engstrom a bit high, and Struble and Trudeau too low. I still have problems to see how Hutson can play on defense in the NHL on a top pair at only 5'09" and 158 lbs. If he stays below 170 lbs, he will be a PP specialist at best and could move to the wing. He has a special offensive talent, but his size remains his main limiting factor. Too many peple don't want to recognize it. Speaking of size, Engstrom is now listed on Habs camp list at 6'02" and 188 lbs. So he now fits sizewise with most of our other D prospects.
