I am definitely on board with giving Kuraly a shot at the third line center position. He's earned it just based on his hustle alone.

You've got the goal scoring ability of Heinen, the hustle of Kuraly, and the "heaviness" (I've got to find some asset...) of David Backes. Won't be potting goals non-stop, but the line certainly has the chance to bring some real energy.

Marchand- Bergeron-Bjork

DeBrusk- Krejci- Pastrnak

Donato-Backes - Heinen

Bjork-Kuraly- Wagner

Nordstrom/ Acciari

Backes needs to play center at least for 2 months or unless JFK Studnicka or Frederic blows their doors off

If Backes plays center these lineups are much easier

I think he means Acciari shouldn’t be in lineup

I been trying to find photos of Backes on Skull Island without luck

Pretty good ride

Wish it was longer

Acciari hits but doesn’t fight. That explains why he doesn’t want him in there. I like Acciari but he would be my extra.

That’d be a cool photo. Maybe you can photoshop him in? Sell it on the t-shirt. Make a fortune. Poster Brent Hughes (I need to specify since I called player Brent Hughes useless and don’t need it being confused) would probably be your biggest buyer. He’d buy one for every day of the week.

Charge wisely.

Oh!!!! Lol times infinity

He means Backes has a soft skull

I don’t get it ?

What’s wrong with his skull

Is Brent Hughes sick again ?

I hope not

He said he posted weird stuff before he left

Good luck I hope they can help you

Your posts have been a bit odd but we understand

Take care of yourself and get well
Must be. Last week he said he take Tom Wilson over Marchand any day of the week. Must be something wrong to think that way. Feel better don godfather I mean Hughes.

Getting back to the opening night roster I’m so excited to see what I figure to be about 18 forwards fight for 13 spots. Now we know the obvious ones to make the roster but guys like Fitz and captain Jack can make roster decisions very hard. And how along is Bjork in recovery. Also defensively I think a Moore -McAvoy pairing could be good. I see Moore in so many ways similar to when we picked up Seidenberg.

Haha

That would be outstanding

I miss JP he’s one of my all time favorites and I mean it. His Sweeney rants are fantastic

I hope he’s just been busy he’s never had a boring post

Very knowledgeable and level headed poster. Hopefully he returns. We need more of what he brings. Not less. Glad DonFather has seemingly taken his place for the time being. I look forward to when they’re both here. Talk about the quality there.

Another guy to keep an eye on is Karson Kuhlman on the 4th line. Mark Divver was really impressed with him at development camp saying he does all the little things right and brings energy every shift. Thinks he will play games in Boston this season.

Reading through the various line-ups I can't help but think we have 3 or 4 options for every "opening" we have. It seems obvious to me that we stand pat for now and evaluate later.

Marchand /Bergy /Pasta-Bjork-Donato-Heinen
DeBrusk / Krejci /Pasta-Bjork-Donato-Heinen
Celarik-Bjork-Donato-Heinen/JFK-Backes-Frederic-Kuraly-Studnicka/Backes-Heinen-Senyshyn
Nordstrom-Accari/ Kuraly-Frederic - Accari/ Wagner-Accari-

Seems like way to many options to me to be thinking making a trade or signing the likes of Nash.

So my opening night roster 2018/19

Marchand/ Bergy/ Pasta
DeBrusk/ Krejci/ Donato
Heinen/ Frederic / Backes
Nordstrom/Kuraly/ Wagner
Bjork

Chara/ MacAvoy
Moore/ Carlo
Krug/ Miller
Gryz/ McQuaid

Rask
Halak

Many here don't have Moore in their line-up- no way he was signed to a 5 year deal to sit in the press box.

Donato showed well late season and should continue on that track

Can't find a spot for Bjork or JFK which makes no sense but such is the bottleneck developing on this team.

I say Frederic is going to surprise us all and steal that 3rd line C spot.

Krug will step into a more natural roll on the 3rd pairing D and PP specialist.

I agree and anyone not named Bergeron Marchand pasta Macavoy and Chara are on the trade block. Bruins are in a position of strength however need to be careful. Other than brining I’m Cassidy Lucic and Hamilton trades Sweeney has not done well on trade front.

Something has to give with all these assets. Can’t forget the new dudes that were brought in for competition and fill ins should a trade take place.

Donato on the 2nd line just might be the best option . Of all the young prospects he seems to have the best potential to put the puck in the net , he just needs time to adapt and find his game .

With 58 days until the season begins, what does your 2018-2019 Opening Night roster look like?

I had a hard time with this.

My roster

Brad Marchand - Patrice Bergeron - David Pastrnak
Jake DeBrusk - David Krejci - Ryan Donato
Danton Heinen - David Backes - Anders Bjork
Chris Wagner - Sean Kuraly - Noel Acciari
Joakim Nordstrom

Zdeno Chara - Charlie McAvoy
Brandon Carlo - Torey Krug
Kevan Miller - Matt Grzelcyk
Adam McQuaid
John Moore

Tuukka Rask
Jaroslav Halak

*Olivier Galipeau is a defenseman and I clearly fubared that one so I apologize.
Training Camp will settle the roster assuming the staff has an open mind on some positions.

For example, I see Donato as a center on the third line since he has the most recent experience at the position from among the candidates, excluding JFK.

It also opens wing slots for Heinen and Bjork and Cehlarik to compete.

I also see John Moore in a top six role on opening night.

Backes (if healthy) needs to start the season as center for that third line. At least for the draws. Then either Heinen, Donato, Kuraly, JFK, Fred, Studnika takes over. Dev camp needs to happen so this can all be put together. I doubt a trade brings in a center before season start, but if things start looking rough early on I can see a prospect go for a proven center.

I think the only "set" spots are March, Berg, Pasta, Krej and DeBrusk for forwards then Chara, Mc and Carlo for D. The rest is all up in the air drawing from a hat.

I expect big things out of Bjork if he can stay healthy this year. He looked awesome to start the year last year.

Debrusk Krejci Pastrnak
Donato Backes Heinen
Nordtrom Kuraly Wagner

Chara McAvoy
Krug Carlo
Moore Miller
Gryz Mcquaid

I am not convinced Donato makes opening line up, think he could use a few months in the A . His game has some defensive and board work areas that are weak. I have to see if Bjork is ready, liked him lots at the start of the year but not so much after the Martin hit.

On my way back from NYC with son and i show him Dan's Dylan Larkin wishful thinking. Honestly, thought there was another Dylan Larkin, not Wings' Larkin.

Boy went all wtf (big Wings fan) till he realized Larkin is face of franchise and creative wouldn't begin to describe what Sweeney would have to do to land him.

Unless Dan knows something . . .

Marchand-Bergeron-Pastrnak
DeBrusk-Larkin - Heinen
Donato- Krejci- Backes
Wagner - Kuraly- Bjork

Chara- McAvoy
Moore -Carlo
Grzelcyk-Miller
McQuaid

Sweeney gets ‘creative’ and gets Dylan Larkin

New, but very level headed poster, @The don godfather suggested that Bruins GM Donny "gets creative" to acquire Larkin.

Ya , he still has some fine tuning to do but I fully expect him to make strides this year. I see him as the best option to fill that spot. Hopefully he'll be able to contribute in the PO's , which is always risky with rookies, but look at DeBrusk , looked like a seasoned vet.

You like Bjork so much, you have him in there twice.

I like your lines, but swap in Nordstrom for the 4th line Bjork.
I'd put Senyshen on at least two lines. First line and 2nd as well as the first PP unit. The kid is going to be that good.
