With 58 days until the season begins, what does your 2018-2019 Opening Night roster look like?

I had a hard time with this.

My roster

Brad Marchand - Patrice Bergeron - David Pastrnak
Jake DeBrusk - David Krejci - Ryan Donato
Danton Heinen - David Backes - Anders Bjork
Chris Wagner - Sean Kuraly - Noel Acciari
Joakim Nordstrom

Zdeno Chara - Charlie McAvoy
Brandon Carlo - Torey Krug
Kevan Miller - Matt Grzelcyk
Adam McQuaid
John Moore

Tuukka Rask
Jaroslav Halak

*Olivier Galipeau is a defenseman and I clearly fubared that one so I apologize.

Nope, thus far, the kid just hasn`t been able to stay healthy

I am not anti Cehlarik, liked some things I saw during his brief time with the big club but that said, I saw nothing that would have me as encouraged about him as many others here seemingly are. Now, for full transparency, I also don`t have access to PB games so I don`t get to see him play there

Thinking Backes up the middle is a lost cause.

I agree with you but due to that it leaves us pretty short at the third center spot . Obviously Nordstrom could do a good job centering line 4 but as much as I love Kuraly I just don't think he would produce enough on the third line . We basically have 2 very good 4th line centers and no 3rd .

I haven't seen him in Prov but I was super impressed with him on bruins except for the last short stint . With all the youngies coming now though I think he really has his work cut out for him.

Just thought of this alternate take on the lines, with the aim being spreading out the scoring depth:

March-Bergy-Bjork
DeBrusk-Krejci-Backes
Donato-Wagner-Pasta
Heinen-Kuraly-Acciari

Yeah, Kuraly doesn't have enough offence to be the 3rd line centre. Hoping Heinen or Donato can transition to that position...hoping its not Nordstrom.

I'm not sure how really feel about this setup. I think it has some good potential, but a lot hinges on Donato playing his off-wing. The good news is Bergy/Marchy could do wonders to help the kid develop his defensive game at the NHL level.

Marchand - Bergeron - Donato
DeBrusk - Krejci - Pastrnak
Heinen - JFK/Studnicka - Backes
Nordstrom - Kuraly - Wagner

Chara - McAvoy
Moore - Carlo
Krug - Miller

Rask
Halak

Acciari, Grzelcyk, Quaider as the extra's.

I'm not sure how far along Bjork will be. From when he was injured + recovery time it puts him down till late Aug / Early Sept. I think he starts the year in the AHL since it'll be since the end of January where he's see game action. Give him a month or so getting more TOI on the 1st line for Providence then re-evaluate. He'd also be the first guy up if a winger were to go down.

I have it exactly the same, except Nordstrom in for Wagner.

I think this will essentially be the opening night roster, but Moore starts over Grzelcyk.

Bunch of options for 3C. I'd imagine that it's a spot that will see competition throughout the season. Hopefully one of JFK/Frederic/Studnicka claims it quickly.

It's a great problem to have but the Bruins are going to have to do something sooner rather than later to break the log jam.

Those X's don't get filled by proven vets or better prospects than they have in the system they are struggling for a playoff spot. Hopefully Sweeney does something before training camp to improve this team. I like the Halak and Wagner signings but a lot more needs to be done. Sadly I think either Bjork or Donato will be given the second line RW spot because they have no other options, Nordstrom will probably be 4th line LW but he isn't my choice to have on the team in any roll and there is no third line center any where to be found. Draft and develop is nice but you need to fill some of these rolls with proven NHL talent not hope. I like the D and that and the top line should at least make them competitive for a playoff spot depending on how much better Florida is.
