The amount of “fans” on here who enjoy posting more during a loss than when they win is really disgusting.
There are certainly a few who on average probably double or triple their posts when we lose. It's an odd way to live although I suspect they're just miserable in all facets of life. Probably treat food and customer service workers like shit too.

Bro Chicago to Winnipeg is like a 2 hour flight with no time zone difference. It's not some crazy flight.
Leaving Chicago shortly before midnight probably, going through Customs, getting to the hotel, etc. It is a lot to do in less than 24 hours.

Meh. One team just clinched recently and the other is still in a dogfight for a wild card spot. Not really surprising that this game meant more to one than the other. I know we're still in a race for positioning, but that's not the same as being in a race just to make it. Plus I think we've had trouble with Winnipeg for a while, or at least it feels that way.

We have been better against them. We beat them earlier this season. It is what it is. Not using the "we struggle against them for years excuse". Both teams have had different players and coaches over the years and we play them at most twice a season. It's like saying Blackwood plays well against them but it doesn't mean much when it's a team you don't play often.

Our team is obviously massively different, but Winnipeg has one of the most consistent lineups going; most of their top forwards besides Dubois have been there for many years. This is Scheifele's 10th full season in Winnipeg, he has played 15 games against NJ with 11 goals, 11 assists and is a +14. Meanwhile Kyle Connor has played 10 games with 2 goals and 3 assists. So who knows.

It's cool that they sent last year's team to play this game. I can't believe the turnovers at the blueline and crap coverage.

#moargoaliesconfidence

Just burn the tape as others have said and on to Pittsburgh who have been a tire fire but after playing for the last look at the window that is slamming shut.

We ducked for thr majority of the time Schiefele has played in the league. Not even worth nitpicking individual stats or players. It was a shitty performance by the whole team tonight. I wanna see a response come Tuesday. I wanna see a good playoff run too sometime soon. Fanbase deserves one.

Pass from behind the net to an open Ehlers in front, a rebound off an odd man rush which came from a deflected shot, a penalty shot, another one timer in the slot. That's where I left.

Don't seem like bad goals to let in. But but but his expected goals against was so low! Literally who cares. The players sucked, left Vitek out to dry.

Some of you are stuck in last year. Every loss is blamed on the goalies for no reason because it's just the default. Absurd.

It was just as absurd last year. Schmid and Blackwood were two of the goalies last year.

It wasn't as if they suddenly became so much better over one off-season.

I think adding three defensemen (Hamilton was out for much of last season) and responsible forwards like Palat, Haula and Wood (also out much of the year) had more to do with the outcome than who played goalie.

60.32% xGF%, 62.62% SCF%, 64.60% HDCF% in our last 10 games. 2nd, 1st and 1st respectively in the league in that span.

Just for the hell of it, I looked it up. We are 4th best in HDCA and SCA in that 10 game span. Our HDSV% in that span is 31st in the league.

Also, for the lolz. The Rangers are 29th in the league in HDCA in the last 10 games. Their HDSV% is 7th. Probably explains a big chunk of their "strong play" as of late.

If the numbers look good but the production not so much that tells you the "data" isn't all that relevant.

The ignore button has come in such handy ever since I found it a couple months ago. At least a handful of folks have found their way on it, so that way I don’t ever even have to see any of their nonsense.
I've found plenty of use for it this season, that's for sure.

NJ may have a good record but at some point they will have to start playing thr good teams and they will be exposed.

Actually in all likelihood they will play the Rangers and then either the Svechnikov-less Hurricanes or the Islanders.

Won't be exposed until the conference finals.

And fortunately would only face a Central Division opponent in the Stanley Cup finals.

Some people like to be miserable. Or they just want attention.
Yep, We live in a world now where people scour twitter and various other platforms to get their outrage fix. It feels like its goten to the point where people cannot function without being outraged.

it’s crazy to me that people can’t enjoy this season and instead harp on being negative.

i’m guilty of complaining after games when i see problems with the team or i dont like the way they’re playing, but this has been the most fun devils season in over a decade. even the 2012 and 2018 seasons didn’t touch this as far as game 1-82 being this much fun to watch.

i have no idea what compels people to come here and try to be cocky about about them sucking when no one can really even take them seriously given how successful they actually are while literally breaking offensive franchise records

A 90+ point player and 40 goal scorer. (First since parise?).
A 70+ point two way center (30+ goals)
Another probable 70 point winger (30+ goals)
A 70+ point defenseman (20 goals)
30 game winning goalie.
A 50+ point 2nd year player (guy almost broke gretzkys goal record for consecutive goals at age)
...and more.

Near top of league +- players (Tatar top 4, Nico top 11)

Team is chasing div lead.
Comeback leader.
Insanely good road record.
Top 7 PK%
Decent PP% (14th)

Terribad team... Yeah right. How can there be so much gnashing of teeth and pomp about team losing...

I didn't get to see the game last night and can't be assed to watch highlights of a blowout loss. This team deserves confidence that these games are an exception.

That said, I wouldn't mind them getting on another roll at some point here heading into the 1st round. Just for the sake of not hearing about some BS narrative where they coasted in off their success in the first 2 months of the season.

You can say the same thing for the "good teams" that we "should" be exposing too.
I was being silly about the loss. There was main board thread earlier in the year that suggested NJ was not actually a good team and they wouldn't sustain being a good team but here we are. Tonight's loss struck me as food for the desperate to discredit a good young team crows.
