Mine is:

  • Attending a Stanley Cup Finals game anywhere!
  • Attending a game at the Shark Tank in San Jose.
  • Attending an important game in Nashville rooting on the Preds!
  • Seeing the Capitals win the Stanley Cup on t.v., online. live, pretty much anywhere!
  • Playing an outdoor ice hockey game on a huge frozen lake where we can skate, skate, skate seemingly endlessly.
  • Meeting Gretzky and having him answer a question of mine.
  • Playing in a game in front of more than a few hundred people (senior hockey playoffs would do).
  • Writing a hockey history book.

-See HFBoards the day after the Rangers win the Stanley Cup
-See Manhattan the day after the Rangers win the Stanley Cup
-Attend a game in Nasvhille
-Attend a game in San Jose
-See the Cup won live
-Attend a home game of every original 6 team
-Attend a home game of every Canadian team
-Attend a Rangers road game
-Meet Rangers announcer Sam Rosen

And most of all, I want to play a hockey game. A breathing condition has kept me off the ice and in the armchair GM box since I'm like 6. In a way I'm ok with it because I have a unique knowledge from observation that many people who play seriously aren't in tune with. But just once, I wanna play. I'm actually pretty decent too, I just can't physically go up and down the ice for 3 hours.

Stuff still on the list
- See the Stanley Cup awarded live
- Attend a game seven, regardless of the teams/round
- Attend a really long (triple OT or better) playoff overtime game - game obviously not something I can plan ahead
- Attend a number retirement/Cup banner raising ceremony
- Become a strong enough skater that I could actually play at least shinny if I wanted to (I'm only 33, so there's plenty of time!)

Stuff crossed off the list
- Attend a playoff overtime game (been to two, one win and one loss)
- Playoff series-clinching game, join 18,000 friends in singing na-na-hey-hey-goodbye (1998, when the Ottawa beat the Devils)
- Habs/Leafs game (1999 in Montreal, 2001 in Toronto. Leafs won both :shakehead)

[*] Meeting Gretzky and having him answer a question of mine.

Well, I've already seen Pittsburgh live three times. Travelled to New York to see them and also to Pittsburgh. I've seen a play-off game in New York. So I'd guess;

- See a Penguins play-off game
- See the Penguins win the cup
- Learn to skate enough to hit a puck. I'm 22 so this probably won't happen.

There isn't really much else that I can think of. Other than maybe to attend a draft.

Besides the obvious of seeing my team win the cup again, here are some realistic ones for me:

* Watch a home game in every hockey city (I'm scratching 3 more off the list in California next month :handclap: )
* Have my face on tv during a hockey game, ideally as that annoying guy on tv that stands up and waves at the camera when the puck is in the corner

It'll probably never happen, but:

* Get checked against the boards. I'm curious as to how much it hurts and how much of the hit the glass absorbs.

Ever since I was a kid I've wanted to see the Stanley Cup presented live, in the building. I'd obviously prefer it to be my team, but I'd be ok with any team.

I'd also like to play hockey in an NHL arena. My 10 year old son has done it, but I haven't.

not true at all. if you do it regularly, and you enjoy it, you'll be playing Mens League hockey within a couple years. i learned to skate as an adult, and I've been playing the last 20 years. start out with a basic skating class, and then progress to an intro-hockey class or clinic. supplement with occasional Public Skating.

you are 22. you are still a freaking kid. all the time in the world.
