Your forwards lineup when/if all are healthy

Balancing lines doesn't make a player a top 6 player. Being a top 6 player doesn't mean you play with Patch to add some grit to his line. You still need at least 4 solid 40 points producer minimum in your lineup and ideally 5 or 6.

In the last 10 years here's the number of 40 points guys the cup winner had

Pens : 6
Pens : 6
hawks : 6
La : 4
Hawks : 5
LA : 4
Bruins : 8
Hawks : 7
Pens : 4 (the had lot of injuries though with 3 guys having 30 something points in 60 something games)
Detroit : 8

So in the last 10 years only 3 cup winners did not have at least five 40+ points producer. 6 cup winners had 6+. 30 something points doesn't cut it.
And on top of that, Pens, hawks, detroit all have guys that put of 1PPG... something we dont have with the habs. The teams that we look alike are the bruins and Kings but we dont have the d-man and the centers that they had

Come on man, he's so useless that he lead the team in points in November...
You dont think that a good timing for trading the guy ? I think it can be profitable for us now and in the futur. Trade him for a guy thats produce a little bit less with a long contract and a prospect or a pick.

Paccio have to be one of the most overrated players in the league for a while. His impact on the game dont match his production. I know that Even with his bad season start... he will probably finish with 35 goal this year. But only to ghost in the playoff. You want your futur best paid foward and captain to be a guy that to bring his A game in the important moment. I was patient with Pacc but in all playoffs he had play in his life at all level. His production was below his regular season stats.

Is the sample size big enough to say that he is a playoff choker ?

Maybe when the Habs are able to get more than just one legitimate scoring threat...we'll be better placed to determine whether or not Max Pacioretty is a "playoff choker" (whatever that is).

10 goals and 19 points in 38 games isn't exactly choking. That's a pace of 20 goals and 40 points in a regular season. Plus, he's been injured for how many of those games?

this, when we make the playoffs this year, it will likely be hard for the opposition to shut every line down. It should give Max some breathing room/space out there.

this is my pipe dream...holding on to it tightly.

I find it more difficult for next year and the year after. I know a lot can happen but what does our line-up look like when Poehling and potentially Evans are ready? Lets say at least Pleky and Patch are gone and assume Poehling, Evans, Scherbak, Juulsen are NHL ready.

Hudon/ Poehling / Drouin
Lehkonen / Galchenyuk / Gallagher
Byron / Danault / Shaw
Carr / DLR / McCarron

Benn / Weber
Alzner / Petry
Jerabek / Schlemko

Where do you put Mete, Evans, Scherbak, Juulsen, Addison, if they are ready? Even with Patch and Pleky gone, something has to give with this roster in the next year or two

There will be trades, Petry for instance has his NMC end this season so in the final 3 years of his contract he has 15 teams he can't be traded to and his salary drops to 4M, 3M, 3M even though his cap hit is high at 5.5M he might be able to fetch something decent when Juulsen is ready to take his spot. Unless Benn goes first.

Did Lehkonen play with Galchenyuk this year? Maybe they both can break out soon.... hopefully!

It's a good point. I expected more from Petry and the contract we gave him to be honest. It will be interesting to see how Juulsen and Brook develop on the right side. Not sure how much Benn will be asking for in a few years but it may be time at the point to trade him as a UFA rental or let him walk.

At this point we have to do what it takes to get the Pacioretty-Danault and Galchenyuk-Drouin duos going. I say put Gallagher on the Danault line and Byron back with Chucky.

Pacioretty Danault Gallagher
Byron Drouin Galchenyuk
Hudon Plekanec Shaw
Carr Froese/De la Rose Deslaurier

When Lehkonen comes back, he can take Shaw's place and Shaw can take the place of Froese/De la Rose.
