Needing a player won’t make them cheaper. While there may not have been so much demand for a defensively challenged powerplay specialist in Gardiner, Muzzin is a proven two-way possession-driver with a great cup run under his belt. Every team in the league will send a better offer than 5x5.
Honestly, Muzzin is exactly the type of system player I can see some GM giving an overpriced contract to, but it probably won’t be DubasUfas are definitely gonna get less and less money now with most teams spending the bulk of the cap on their young RFAs. If some dumbass gm wants to give him absurd money then see ya.
I agree. He's not a liability defensively by any shot, but not particularly above average. His strength is more as an offensive defender. I think it's easy to look a big guy who lays some nice hits and clears the front of the net and automatically label him as a defensive specialist though.Good offensive defenceman. Not a good defensive defenceman, despite the advertising.
This team got weaker defensively over the off-season. Only saving grace is positional handedness. Hopefully that's enough.
This team is still good enough to win the Stanley Cup, of course, and it's easy to imagine scenarios where Muzzin visibly helps us do that.
TWS can suck my left nut.All I know forsure about Muzzin, is that the pieces we traded for him Grundstrom, Durzi, 1st Rd Pick (Bjornfort) will become cult favorites for a specific poster (tws). That much is certain.
