I never understood the high praise for Namath.

His stats are mediocre at best.

Honestly, I'm not sure if any Expos greats crack the list. Pedro is regarded by many as the greatest pitcher ever, so I included him, but he only played four seasons with the Expos. The eight Habs players I listed all crack the top 50 players of all time and with the exception of Roy, they played all or most of their career with the Canadiens. However, Roy carried two teams to the Stanley Cup, so he gets a pass. I can't see how any other Expos like Andre Dawson, Gary Carter, and Tim Raines, tops them.

How can you put Bradshaw over Roethlisberger? Bettis over Polamalu? Mazeroski prob isn't top 20. Honestly I'd put AB over all of them and he's not even in my top 10.

This gets weird for the (North) Carolina entry.

First, I'd split Charlotte and Raleigh into two lists. Even though the team names are 'Carolina' in a couple of cases, I don't see the two cities sharing a history for the purpose of a list like this.

But if we do that, Raleigh only has one pro team in its history. But then there are the college teams... is UNC considered to be a "Raleigh" team? Is Duke? That gets super weird. I would for sure say that figures like Michael Jordan and Roman Gabriel are a bigger part of the local sports scene than whoever the 10th best Hurricane was (like... Erik Cole I guess?) so they should probably count.

And then there's Charlotte. The Panthers and Hornets legends are pretty easy. But what about NASCAR? The Earnhardts are for sure the biggest sports stars actually from Charlotte, and Richard Petty probably counts too. The sport is effectively based out of the Charlotte area. But how does that figure here?

And I'm just gonna throw it out there... Ric Flair.

I'd personally rank GSP at the top of the list. GOAT MMA fighter IMO.
