I'm no talent evaluator so I won't be pumping my own tires here, but I do have something to say (even though i have said it multiple times before in other threads). The 2003 and 2010 drafts were special cases and it makes sense why they're so engrained in the brains of so many Ranger fans.

Both drafts were loaded with talent of relatively known value. Both times the Rangers screwed themselves over by trying to be the smartest guys in the room and/or trying to make a crazy, rim shattering slam dunk when a layup was all that was necessary.

You liked Parise more than Jessiman? Congrats, so did just about everyone else (except for those that mattered for us). You got incredibly excited when Tarasenko fell to #10 and then smashed your head against a wall when the Rangers called McIlrath's name? Join the party.

These moments were as future defining as some of the free agent follies that have plagued this team forever. Never forget.
