Is labanc a center? Does he play 3rd line minutes in San Jose? I would do this trade sending back Zucker, Staal, and pateryn, but I’m not sure the cap works there. I’d want the 2nd to be a 1st too.

LaBanc is a winger. He gets bounced around through pretty much every line on a somewhat regular basis. He’s ideally on a scoring third line or a second line needing some scoring touch that has two solid two way guys on it.

We don’t have a first for the next two years either.
Not so much interested in pateryn as we have solid D depth, would like zucker, but we need to save cap space next year. Interested in Staal a lot though. LaBanc + 2nd for staal?
