So the Young Stars tournament starts in less than three weeks with the first game on September 11th.

Anyone know what day the players arrive ? What Canuck prospects will be there ? Or any other details

The Vancouver Canucks roster will include four players selected in the first round of the NHL Entry Draft since 2012: Jake Virtanen (6th overall in 2014), Jared McCann (24th overall in 2014), Hunter Shinkaruk (24th overall in 2013), and Brendan Gaunce (26th overall in 2012). Cole Cassels, who helped lead the Oshawa Generals to a Memorial Cup Championship this past season, will attend the event alongside defence prospects, Ben Hutton and Jordan Subban. 2015 Entry Draft selections Guillaume Brisebois (66th overall) and Dmitry Zhukenov (114th overall) will also make their Young Stars tournament debut.

The only person that I think is a possibility in the 'maybe' column is Pedan, since he's a new shiny toy and all. But unofficially over the years the oldest players are in their draft+3 year. So I think all of those guys noted won't be there.

Man, I love the Young Stars Tournament. It's my favorite event of the year behind the Draft. The first rays of hockey after a boring Summer. Optimism breeds freely, until you see the Canucks prospects and are brought back to reality.

So many fun questions heading into the rookie camp this year.

Will Virtanen live up to the hype and be one of the better players in the tournament?

How much have players like Shinkaruk, Cassels, McCann and Stewart progressed?

Will Subban and McEneny show NHL upside?

I'm most excited to see Zhukenov, Subban and Hutton.

Too bad Tryamkin can't come over.

Yes I remember a bit of a fuss on here a few years back when Edmonton brought or tried to bring some 24/25 year old AHL goon.
