Alfie chose Detroit and came to them because of the Swedish contingent and because of the success the Wings have had during his career mostly established by the work of Bowman and some great players.

Dekeyser chose Detroit because he is from Michigan and has always been a fan growing up. Most people figured he would probably come to Detroit even before his college career was over
