So now you get double ****ed when the officials get the review wrong and you get a penalty as a bonus.

I think you should be able to challenge without a timeout with a delay of game penalty as the punishment if you're wrong though.

Apparently they are gonna let you keep the timeout now. So instead of losing timeout, you keep the to and go to box

I like this. Truly egregious calls can get reviewed still and borderline nonsense will be let go so the game doesn't get bogged down.

NHL needs to stay the F away from the replay madness, i.e. trying to get every stinkin call correct.

Right now the NFL has completely screwed their product. There are a lot of people starting to watch hockey now as a result, as it's really the only game out there with lots of action for your time spent watching. But wait, the NHL has caught the bug and they're gonna get everything perfect.

Just sit tight fans, and let's have the drama unfold with commercials as we have the outcome of the game hinge on the call. It's idiotic and I pray the NHL doesn't go that route any further than they already have.

So penalties for missed challenges? Sure, because teams won't challenge everything and the game will be faster as a result. But getting rid of it altogether is even better.

I dunno. Replay has forced the NFL to actually invest more in their refs. They're no longer part-timers. They are full-time now with more training.

Nah. Unless they allow teams a reasonable amount of time to watch the multiple angles of replays before deciding to risk a minor on a challenge.
Doesn't seem like a particularly clever idea otherwise and will slow the game down even more if they do allow time to assess.

Pretty stupid considering they can't even make the right decision on a lot of offside challenges.. Are these people blind? Do they not see how much of an issue goaltender interference is?

If you need multiple angles the play was probably too close to contest anyway. I think this is great. Will probably nix 80 to 90% of the stupid was his skate a millimeter off the ice crap.

You didn't notice how many of those offsides weren't decided until the camera angles only the league has access to were viewed?

So offsides and goalie interfence have nothing to do with hockey?

Thinking someone might have interfered with the goalie and requesting a review, only to have the decision be "inconclusive", then getting hit with a penalty, then having the opponent score a SECOND goal to win the game, is a case of the game being decided by non-hockey factors.

This is reducing the sport to a mini-game between the coaches and refs. It's just nonsense. Who likes watching this crap?

Maybe if the replay clearly shows they were wrong... and not 'inconclusive so here's a penalty because the league head office is filled with incompetent ********s'.

So an obvious offside happens that gets ruled not offside and you get a penalty because it's a dumb call from the video guys?
