Streit is probably going to be with the Flyers for a while.
His contract is done at the end of next year.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but won't his signing bonus for next season be paid out on July 1st? If so, he only makes $2 million for the rest of the season after that. To me, that could be an attractive piece to a team that has to worry more about real salaries than it does about cap space. Streit at 2 million could be a bargain for a lot of teams.

I want to sign Brodziak as our 4C. Then try to trade or sign an upgrade sniper to the top 6. Unload Streit at the deadline and bring up Morin, the defense is coming along.

I wonder what Lucic will sign for this offseason? His stats from this season weren't too bad that I seen.

a lot of you guys didn't want to see streit traded at last year's or this year's deadline because you thought we could have gotten more for him over the summer. that definitely isn't going to happen. not every defenseman ages gracefully. it's a shame because we probably could have gotten a 1st round pick for him

Streit is probably going to be with the Flyers for a while. Which team wants his cap hit for the play that he has to offer at this time. Some would say that the drop off is injury related; other would say age. The money probably keeps AMac in town as well. Perhaps Hexy can find a taker for Schultz. My guess would be that breaking camp in the fall, the defensemen will be
MDZ Ghost
AMac Streit
Provorov Gudas
Alt
With Morin staying in the minors until Streit can be dealt or someone goes down with an injury.

With the emergence of Gudas, if he can be signed to a reasonable contract, it wouldn't surprise me to see him be the veteran that is used to anchor the young defense of the Flyers for the future. Breaking camp in '18 it could well be Ghost-Gudas; AMac-Provorv; Morin-Sanheim with Alt or Hagg. MDZ might be the kind of chip that Hextall has to give up in order to get the help up front that the team needs.

Hextall is our gm. AMac is tradable! I'm a sucker for the thing we so long didn't have. I'm stingy when it comes to trading goalies as we haven't had a good one in so long let alone 2. Also as for d mdz and Gudas showed SO much this year I want them here long term to anchor our young guys as vets. And if Hagg or Myers becomes an option to push one out then I say sure

The assumption here is that age is the cause. It could be. Or it could be the pelvic bone needing to be re-fused.

That's like, the Gentleman's stitch of the century.

Might take awhile to get 100%.

Neuvirth and Mason are both somewhat injury prone and I imagine they will try to break in Stolie as a callup in the first half of the season next year, unlike this season where they missed the opportunity and then got caught chasing a playoff spot.

... and then there is this kid Alex Lyon they just signed who is supposed to be very good

Does Stolaraz get any playing time next season? I was kind of hoping during the final month that hak's would have put him in just to see how he would do.

They were riding a hot Mason to get them into the playoffs so he had no shot at playing. I suspect he may get called up next season should they move Neuvirth.

You guys and the Drouin thing. If he was available for a mid-first round pick he would have been moved. Clearly Yzerman wasn't taking a loss on him.

Lucic will probably command again around $6M ; 4-5 years I bet.

Part of me wants Lucic, because having him and Simmonds together would be hilarious to watch and drive 29 teams + fans insane with hatred.

I would do that, probably gets way more. When interviewed Lucic has said his favorite place to play is in Philly!!
After this series I'd love some size at forward. Our future defense should be pretty big. If they all pan out like we think, they will be pretty good on the attack, perhaps instead of this imaginary sniper of a player we could use more talent along the boards

Morin, Simmonds, Lucic, Gudas, Ghoul in the playoffs, imagine?

Imagine the two of them on the same line. It would be a dumb way to spread the talent, but would be very entertaining for us.

I want either Lucic or Shaw. Guys that sniff out pucks around the net and find ways to put them in.

Shaw would really be a perfect add for this team (for the right price). He can fill a Ryan white type role and doing way better

Anybody think the Hawks take Read for him? Honestly, I think they would take McDonald if they had the cap room. They've been playing pretty ****** guys on their third pair.

Honestly, I've like all the ideas for Bozak, Shaw, and Brodziak. Unfortunately I don't think Lucic is realistic.
