They only play 10 games, the CFL play 18 games, so the XFL makes more per game.I actually think its smart they are keeping salaries below the CFL to start.
Vince has been over the 1 billion mark already - happened years ago. Most of his net worth is WWE stock, which obviously goes up and down. But at this point he's probably bored and figured why not try again.
Also... 2024****
The timing of his announcement..... Wasnt it after espn did a 30 for 30 on the old xfl?
Its almost as if the documentary got his mojo going again to try and reclamate a past failure.
You hit the nail on the head here.
IIRC after participating and then watching the doc, Vince realized that he could have done so many things different & better. Given the enormous success he's had, he didn't like having this failure on his resume. Plus he wanted to fund it by himself, that way nobody else would have input or could change anything. It remains to be seen how it will do, but at least this time around he gave it 2 years of planning instead of trying to throw it together in a couple of months.
Not really, Charlie Ebersol approached Vince to buy all the XFL assets, and tipped him off to decide that if someone else thought it was a good idea, then he should be the one reviving it. So, Charlie started the AAF instead. Vince hasn’t been successful at anything outside of wrestling which is also a driving factor since he thinks he’s a genius.
