Yes, the wait has been painful. Great deal for both sides. Let him put up 50 goals each of the next two years and collect the money on next contract. Jets will be willing to pay up!

Smart deal for both. Jets need him from game one and Laine need to prove that last season was a one off.

I actually like it for both sides. IMO this puts alot of pressure on Laine to excel so he can cash in on a big contract after this.

Let's see what hes got!!.. bettin' on himself.. I like it

I think it's a decent deal for both sides. They get him cheaper than he wanted and for him he can try to prove quickly that he deserves a bigger deal.

I actually like the 2-year term, though I would have preferred a slightly lower cap hit. Let Laine blow up with a 50 goal season or two and then get his big long-term deal when the Jets have more cap space.
