Great deal here.
I would be thrilled with this if I were a Jets fan.

Connors all around game is so much better at the moment but Laine's goal scoring ability and higher ceiling put him pretty close.
Master of the two word miscalculation right here....over payment
Friedman said the Jets were using the Nylander deal of 6.96 x 6 buying out one UFA year as the NHL comparable. The Jets were able to get 3 UFA years at 7.14 x 7 for a more productive player. This was an outstanding contract given the comparable. Better player, better term, better value. Excellent job by Chevy in this negotiation.
Hard to fault this contract. But, curious if it would have been smarter to give to Laine and bridge Connor.
Well you can't give someone a long term contract if they're not willing to sign one at the moment.
Jets needed some good news this season. Chevy gave them some with this deal.
Not quite as high on Connor as some people seem to be but I think he'll be pretty consistent as a 30G 60P man, especially if he continues to play with Scheif and Wheeler. Probable to break 70pts at least once or twice during this contract. That's a good player to have locked up with this kind of term.
Basically the same as Kevin Hayes contract
