Young D looked pretty good.

Kadri looked good as the #1C

Would have beaten a ton of teams playing this well.

Leafs played a very strong and entertaining game and were the better team on the night.

Bernier stops that 1st one and it might be a different outcome.

Babcock system immediately noticeable improvement.

Kadri, Rielly and Hunwick real strong games.

Get used to it guys, this is going to be the story all season. The players can play Babcock's system, but just aren't good enough to score.

That's perfect.

Systematic enough to put a good effort and be entertaining to watch, but bad enough to land us a solid draft pick.

Developing. Kadri is potentially part of the future. Bozak isn't. He'll never get better if he doesn't get the opportunities. He lost the face off and that's on him though.

Imagine when the Habs play against an actually good team. Oh boy. Giving up 35+ shots a game is not going to be good for them at all. I don't know if they expect to be able to be in the playoffs with that kind of pathetic effort.

Anyway, I thought most of the team played well other then Bozak, Lupul, Marincin and Arcobello (all though did have a couple nice passes in the third).

Solid game overall. I'll take this effort and structure all day. Plug in some talent into this system over the next couple of years and you've got something. It's only one game though. This system seems to require a lot of energy and attention (it was weird to see players working hard out there), and it'll be a challenge to replicate that every game. Good start though!

gardiner and rielly will need to generate most of the scoring with the lack of skill up front
so keep them seperated

Thought the Leafs played a solid game. Bernier looked a little shaky at times. But overall not much to complain about. Really like our system and how effective we were on the cycle, dominating at times. Good effort by the guys.

Excellent. We can lose games and develop our defense, then next season we can bring in our offensive youth and start improving.
