Finland coaching is odd.
You should know. Pennanen is pretty much a carbon copy of Paul Maurice. Rigid and stubborn system coach who is incapable of changing his style according to the opponents. Pretty much a definition of insanity, as he keeps trying the same stuff over and over again, even when it obviously doesn’t work. Just like Maurice. And at least as huge ego and love for himself as Maurice has as well. Condolences to Florida btw.

Because Canada will sure beat Finland if we play like this.
We are not very likely to play like this against Canada in any crucial match. Year after year Finland will bring their best game when it matters, win or lose. It should basically be a given by now.

Wow, what a terrific audience.

I think you just explained every coach over 50. At least Mo is Florida and Barkovs problem now.

But... It´s looked really awful so far. We've actually been carried by individual brilliance from our stars more than before.
Without the first line and a couple of other players Czechia would have won this with ease.

1 takeaway from this game is holy hell Roby Järventie is playing better than he did in 2021 WJC.
Agreed, but the guy needs a bit speed and intensity around him because god damn, his not that mobile or quick.

Can't understand why he can't let Lambert and Järventie try to play together. Their strengths are different but could be a good match.

And in how many tournaments before have we initially looked very sluggish and unimpressive and still ended up on quite a different level? And even now we have two wins out of two games without being even near our actual potential. Looks like a pretty typical team Finland to me.

Räty played over 24 minutes. Helenius only 10.
Yeah, and in those 10 minutes he didn't manage to show a dime.

Hopefully the big guy can show what he brings to the table when Finland will be facing Canada and others.

Disagree.
Because your'e missing one point here, and that's a crucial point. We've never been this bad defensively imo. I jus't cant remember that.

Earlier we've won because of a somewhat strong collective and at least decent defensive play. That's nowhere to be found so far.
