Would love to see Wikstrand take some one-timers instead of passing it off continously

He tried a couple of times but the passes he was receiving weren't very good.

Scored a nice shootout goal though.

The kid is a player though, a top 10 prospect.

Silfverberg, Zibanejad, Lehner, Stone, Ceci, Puempel, Noesen, Da Costa, Wiercioch, Hoffman/Pageau/Prince.

Who would you put him ahead of?

Based only off the two games I've seen thus far, which is unreliable, you can make make arguments over Hoffman (much older), Pageau, Wiercioch (much older), Da Costa (question his drive, not ability).

The kids a nice player. He's got smooth skating, moves nicely on the blue line, big shoot, handles the puck with the confidence, doesn't shy away from contact and has kept good position on his man defensively.

Am I certain I'd be as impressed by Cody Ceci in these two games as I was by Wikstrand...to be quite honest, I can't be certain. But at this point you can't start making conclusive statements about stuff like that.

Pageau, Hoffman.

Plus I am talking about next year when Silfverberg and likely Zibenejad, Weircioch will graduate.

He did better in the shootout than both Dacosta and Jessiman (combined) yesterday

was unsure about the puempel for what could have been ouellet and jurco. Having wikstrand helps make it less of an issue (for me anyway).

Is Ryan Murphy the same ****ing player he was two years ago? Like skill, size, ability, etc.???

He could have arguably made this team at 17, he was good enough at the camp at 17 but they chose not to, they already had Ellis. So far he looks like a fringe player at this level, a PP specialist if at all, like he would have two years ago.

This comes off like Angelo Esposito so far.

this, hockey canada is just dumb. god

Wikstrand is awesome. Love him.

Agreed, you can choose be proud of it if you like, that's entirely true, and I have no problem with people making that decision, but I don't think it should be expected of people.

And yes, I'm cheering for Sweden because of Wikstrand. Why? Because with him being a Sens prospect, and I being a Sens fan, I have a personal connection to him, which is more than I can say for any others in the tournament.

BTW, great to see so many of us on the same page! :handclap:

I don't agree with team Canada's selections, and I'm not a huge fan of any of the players...other than RNH. I was kinda hoping Wikstrand would pot one on that late powerplay hahaha. I'm a proud Canadian though, I think.:sarcasm:

"underwhelming" would be the word I'd use to describe Team Canada so far. Given that this is a lockout year, I'm kind of surprised how little they score, even RNH looks mediocre

Guess I really just wish he was more greedy, on the powerplay there were times when he had all the room in the world and could have set himself up for some beauty slapshots from the point.

Canada is going to get mopped by the Russian and the US if we play like this. Awful out there for all the talent we have.

JW: Sens prospects in WJC

I already know there is none on Team Canada but I was wondering if there were any prospects on the other national teams in this years world juniors and if so, who are they?

Sorry for the ignorance, my life has become very hectic in the last couple of months and my time for hockey analyzing has been very limited.

Thank you to anyone who responds with the correct answer.

I've only seen him in 2 games, but I'm fully on board with this kid. Based on his age and what I've seen thus far, I'd put him above everyone on that list except Silf, Lehner and Stone. Maybe Zibby, Maybe Ceci

This kid excels at every part of the game. We should all be very very excited.
