Andrighetto - MacK - Rantanen
Landy - Compher - Yak/Bjork
Wilson - Jost - Duchene/Yak
Nieto - Soderberg - Comeau
Colborne

If ghetto can't keep it up Bjorkstrand takes his spot.

If Yakupov isn't scoring goals or providing any type of offense he's useless, he's just a small sniper. That's why he doesn't belong on 3rd or 4th lines. He needs to play with the best players Avs have and hope he can finally put it together, which is kinda unlikely, but you'll never know I guess

It would make our first line completely ineffective too. MacK and Rants were great together, and actually gave the Avs a good 1st line for teams to deal with. If Rants progresses like he should, those two will be deadly together. The 2nd line scoring should be found elsewhere.

There's really only 2 major things to keep in line when considering their lines. 1) DON'T split up Mack/Rants. 2) STOP putting Duchene/Landy together ffs.

With Duchene:

Andrighetto - MacKinnon - Rantanen
Landeskog - Jost - Yakupov
Wilson - Duchene - Compher
Nieto - Soderberg - Comeau

With Duchene it creates a logjam of inefficient/not ideal development. It seems they want Jost and Compher at C, and with him still here one or both gets shifted to wing.

W/O Duchene:

Andrighetto - MacKinnon - Rantanen
Landeskog - Jost - Yakupov
Wilson - Compher - Kerfoot
Nieto - Soderberg - Comeau

Or if we're trying to up Soderbergs value and turn his career around, maybe consider trying:

Landeskog - Soderberg - Compher
Andrighetto - MacKinnon - Rantanen
Wilson - Jost - Yakupov

Even with Dutchy I think an important 3rd caveat is to give Soda a chance and keeping him off the 4th line. Might mean Jost starts in the AHL or on the wing until injuries or a losing streak, which I'm OK with.

Ghetto/Landeskog - MacKinnon - Rantanen
Wilson - Duchene - Yakupov
Landeskog/Ghetto - Soderberg - Compher
Nieto - Kerfoot - Comeau
Colborne

Also an option of having Jost centre the 4th line to start... I would really like to see Landeskog - MacKinnon - Rantanen as our top line if the other lines can handle it.

I really hope Duchene doesn't get moved unless some team makes an actual good offer. I don't blame Sakic for holding out. With that in mind, lines only with Duchene:

For me my lines are:

Landeskog - Mackinnon - Duchene
Wilson - Jost - Rantanen
Nieto - Soderberg - Comeau
Andrighetto - Compher - Yakupov

Duchene can take some draws on his strong side, and I see this line being dominant for most of 18minutes per night they should get.

The second line can play 15 minutes a night and hopefully Jost can handle it.

Soderberg's line should also be able to handle 12-15minutes a night.

I think Compher and Andrighetto both have a good work ethic and this would take any pressure on Yak. Its less of a 4th line and more of a limited minutes 2nd line.
This line should be solid but protected, offensive zone starts, etc for 10-12 minutes a night.

I think the D is impossible to predict outside of our top 3.

If MacKinnon & Rantanen get broken up I will rage. Let Dutchy play RW with Wilson-Jost if he's still hear and eat up premium offensive minutes while the MacK n Mikko line gets most of the attention and the Landeskog & Compher line takes the toughest minutes...ideally with Soda center them if Bednar can repair that relationship.

Jost-MacK-Rantanen ---> Our first line for the next decade?
Landeskog-Compher-Wilson ---> Shut down and grind it out
Nieto-Duchene-Yak ---> Speed? I like speed
Ghetto-Yeti-Comeau---> PK/PP/Fillers for injury

So we all know that Landy on LW centered by Duchene does not work well. Have we seen much of them on a line with someone else centering?

Hi guys, long term uk avs fan and hfboard reader but new poster.

I really hope for the team and duchenes sake he is moved and just can't see him in the lineup to start the year either way. I'd like to see;

Ghetto - Mack - Rants
Landeskog - Jost - Yak
Wilson - Soderberg - Compher
Neito - kerfoot or Colbourne - Greer

Zadorov - Johnson
Lindholm - Barrie
Bigras - Barberio

Welcome!

I think we'll see something like this after the deadline. But for now Comeau will have Greers spot and I think Kerfoot starts in the AHL as well.

I fully expect to see Colborne, Comeau, and perhaps Soderberg all moved out at the deadline with the young guys taking over.

And I do actually expect those guys to get moved. They all have value unlike the mess of free agents we had last season.

Cause there was some talk in another thread about playing MacKinnon on the wing (seems to come up every year).

Well.. I wouldn't hate it. Would actually be pretty exciting to see those lines out there. Though 1C and 2C both being rookies is quite something.. :help:
