Willie took the job (per an interview) because he wants to get back into coaching and for him, he'll do the best he can with a bad situation. He might get an Asst' coaching gig out of it. This team, as it is currently comprised, is dead in the water. Willie can't fix that. And the leadership issue , or lack thereof, is glaring.

Lmao hasn't the sun had enough?

All things aside, who gave Blake and Robitaille a position in this organization?

Whoever is responsible for assembling the old boys club is the real problem.
That would be this man.

...and this is what he cares about above all else. In case you don't want to watch it, what he cares about is increasing the value of AEG's real estate holdings by integrating hotels, restaurants, and entertainment venues. He obviously thinks most Kings fans are fools, because he thinks putting "Luuuuuuuuc!!!" in charge of the entire hockey organization would be acceptable.

Rangers 8-7-2 (2pts out of a playoff spot)
Ottawa 7-7-3 (2nd best offense in the NHL)
Montreal 9-5-3

None of these teams were supposed to be good this year. Ottawa and Montreal were supposed to be trash; total dumpster fires. Laughing stocks. NYR is literally trying to rebuild.

Hockey is very blue collar in a way. It's about work ethic on the ice. In a league like the NHL where talent is spread so evenly, a team that's hungry and emotionally invested will find ways to win even if they're generally less talented than their opponents.

The Kings problem isn't talent as much as it's effort, and the competitiveness of the aforementioned teams proves it.

Interesting.

So this loyalty shtick wasn't only a problem that DL preached by himself.

Crazy, to see so many dealt players have a resurgence or career years this season, after changing teams:

Elias Lindholm, (18 pts in 17 games) Ryan O'Reilly (20 pts in 14 games) Max Domi?? (21 pts in 17 games)
Chris Tierny?? (15 pts in 17 games) Dylan Demelo D (7 pts 17 games, team high plus 7 )
Mike Hoffman 12 pts in 13 games and tied Florida Pathers record, pts in 9 straight.

Blake should tell other GMs these names and that Pearson is NOT a 1 assist scrub, but will be a 24 goal scorer on their team...away
from this craphole team...Muzzin is a top pairing and still good for 10 goals, 30 points from this point on your team...etc.
Our dog crap is actually your gem.

Crazy that Domi is now a good player? How does this happen? (never happens to the Kings when a player comes here)

Domi just needed a change of scenery, he has been productive through his young career. Tanner Pearson is looking like he needs the same.

Big Willie has tightened shit up, can't ask for more from an interim coach, the games are more interesting than under Stevens, that's all i asked for

the roster needs to change; hopefully Blake makes a few good trades this season, add at least one NHL ready prospect from this year's upcoming draft, add a few good free agent signings during the summer, properly prepare guys like Vilardi, JAD, Thomas, Kupari, Clague, etc

and before you know it, we're back to our good old "wild card" selves by 2020.... just in time for the lockout

We already launched coaches to the sun. The time has come to launch management and players to the sun. Only then will we see a black star and a shining product on the ice.

Yes, of course because it's his fault that his 2 best goalies are hurt. For a second there I thought I was on the Canucks board...
