If I was the GM, I'd give him $6.5 million AAV for 2 years. He continues his high level of play during the contract; his extension will be worth more. If he doesn't, well, Cody Glass could be the #1 center by then. His ask is more than fair IMO.

guy potted 40+ and finished 6th in Selke (6 1st place votes actually more than Koivu at 5). PO + RS combined 102 gp 50g 43a for 93 pts. I think the innate chemistry that him Marchessault and Smith have will keep his floor quite high (55-60ish pts) and situation-wise he isn't close to being used the same way as he was in CBJ there's no comparison b/w VGK Wild Bill and CBJ's

If he continues to do what he did last season? No it’s not, but there are valid reasons to think he might regress, and if he does then it is too much.
