Don't you get it? Nobody has figured out how to stop McDavid. Nobody
I'm imagining you sitting there, thinking this is a witty retort that somehow supports your earlier replyBelow ppg player against the Buffalo Sabres among others.

McDavid has proven he can put up points in the regular season or do you forget the individual hardware he's claimed already? His points per game has gone UP every year. And this was before this season. I can understand if a player is having a fluky year like Matthews and the amount of goals he's putting up as we still have to see if he can win a rocket in a full season. But McDavid. Has. Proven. It.
Blues, Hawks and Sabres.McDavid is only below a point per game versus 3 teams. Two of them he's 1 point under.
St Louis is really the only team he hasn't manhandled at some point yet.
87 points in 49 games right now
Matthews has scored more goals in five years than McDavid in six.
The most impressive thing is that the reigning Art Ross & Hart winner is so far behind. It really is a testament to the run McDavid is on.
It’s not a question of division at this point, there’s lots of good players in this division that can’t even touch McDavid.
Yet if you took all of McDavids 191 goals away he would still have more points than Matthews...
It helps that McDavid (31) and Drai (27) have almost 3x as many PP points. No forwards are really close to them. Matthews has 13 and Marner has 14.
This is one of the advantages of having a less deep team, the PP time isn't split as much.
North PP leaders:
1.) McDavid
2.) Drai
3.) Barrie
4.) RNH
5.) Gaudreau
i really think they rest him.If/When the Oilers clinch, do they rest McDavid at all or play him normally to have him chase 100? You have to think that becomes a factor too.
not McDavid’s fault that Matthews is a lesser talent who gets less pts on the pp
i think that’s what every oilers fan wants7 games remaining to get 13 points. It's still doable. Watch him hit 100 with a game remaining and get rested for the final game before playoffs
Or maybe the reason the Oilers simply don't waste time with less effective PP formations and that's why their PP% is the highest in the league over the last two seasons. It helps that McDavid (31) and Drai (27) have almost 3x as many PP points. No forwards are really close to them. Matthews has 13 and Marner has 14.

Barrie, RNH and Drai too, not just McDavid
They get more time on the PP per game than any other North counterpart

So its McDavids fault that hes much better at the powerplay than Matthews or Marner? It helps that McDavid (31) and Drai (27) have almost 3x as many PP points. No forwards are really close to them. Matthews has 13 and Marner has 14.
