I’m surprised this poll hasn’t been made yet just to get a general idea what we the Avs fans think. I for one am leaning more towards he won’t play again based on other 2 pro athletes who had the same surgery and unable to play

I think he does eventually come back, but it will be a short stint and the injury will force him out quickly.

He's done. Go enjoy your beautiful family with your millions of dollars. If I understand this correctly, unless the Avs buy him out he'll make all the money under his current contract because injury forced him to retire.

I think we need to stop getting Swedish players in our organization. Their lower bodies can't handle the altitude or something. The peaks are high but the injuries are just heartbreaking

If he spend another year on the LTIR, i think it would mean that he's done for good .
That would be two years without playing any hockey, It's a lot and i dont see how he could comeback from a two years hiatus .

If he comes back at age 31 after missing 2.5 year of action he's not going to be able to keep pace with NHL speed.

That's a very, very long break for someone his age.

I think he will come back but I am not sure how long and how effective he will be.

 my bad , i dont watch as many avs games as i used to do
Well he did come back for the playoffs in 2022 so technically it wasn't a real 2.5 year "break". Although he kept it at a minimum and didn't practice or anything during that playoff run.

yeah , that's where my brain went offline . I remember him playing in the playoffs and the reason why i forgot about the prior regular season games that he missed.

If he comes back and looks like the Islanders version of Andrew Ladd that will be the end of our window for sure. Can't have a player like that for 7M on the cap.

It's pretty touchy.
Yeah its going to be tough for sure but I think with his play style he might be fine if his skating doesn't come back fully. If he's a solid middle 6 guy I would be pretty happy

As I have said in the past, I have seen this attempted process with major injuries many times in the past with other players in hockey. My gut says he comes back but it's short lived. Happy to be proven wrong.
