NHL players respect games played. It’s obvious watching him this year that he wasn’t giving his all most games. Limited tenacity in the D-zone, unwilling to go to the net to get his usual deflections or tap-ins, wanting to get rid of the puck as soon as he got it, losing board battles he had spent the last decade winning with one hand.
