I'm all for signing this guy, but someone like him, if he works out even a little bit, might make Rask look even worse. Also wonder about Svetlakov over in the KHL. He seems like a guy who would be at least a decent 4th line C.

doesn't matter where he plays, or even if he plays. If he signed a contract for this season, he's an RFA in a few weeks.

My friend I talked to who watches a lot of ECAC also thinks this is probably the case. Not sure about his offensive upside, but his defensive game is pretty much ready to go. Basically what we’ve been hearing from everyone and everywhere so far.

I like this signing. Wild need size. Nice highlight package. It's hard to tell if his offense if good enough for the NHL Rookies tend to do well on good teams and struggle on bad ones. Without support I think he might struggle.
