Russo brought him up yesterday too:

Captained Clarkson to a NCAA Tournament appearance and had 45 pts in 39 games this season. Sounds good to me.

I don’t get excited for college free agents because even when we sign the most coveted ones they end up being 6/7 D like Folin it Prosser or Rielly

Well, if we convert Nico to a #6/7 D then I will be in it for the jokes.

Glad we signed him, if only for his name. 6'3" C? Count me in!

Really no downside to this signing....even if his ceiling is a productive AHLer. (not saying that this would be his ceiling)

I'm all for signing this guy, but someone like him, if he works out even a little bit, might make Rask look even worse. Also wonder about Svetlakov over in the KHL. He seems like a guy who would be at least a decent 4th line C.

Congratulations. The kid has great defensive chops already and will help whatever organization he went to.

Whatever his shortcomings have been, they've at least been at the NHL level. Sturm has a ways to go, if he even can.

Or maybe he doesn’t. Guess we’re going to find out.

Minnesota you mean, we're burning his contract, that means Minnesota.

Iowa next season.
doesn't matter where he plays, or even if he plays. If he signed a contract for this season, he's an RFA in a few weeks.

I like this signing. Wild need size. Nice highlight package. It's hard to tell if his offense if good enough for the NHL Rookies tend to do well on good teams and struggle on bad ones. Without support I think he might struggle.
