First skills competition of the year...god, I hate it.

Not a game where any team was really bad, just two big dogs going at each other, Wild had momentum then leafs had momentum and so on.

Absolutely beastly 5-on-3 kill, a clinic.

Matthews was deadly when he needed to be but Willy and JT were silent.

Even after a shaky start with bounces, my propers to Jackie, he held it down and got the point.

Rielly had one of those games where he wasn't a total liability but it'd be hard to say how much of an asset he was - 3 assists, 2 bad penalties.

Brodie and Sandin were fine - far from bad but not amazing.

Holl is barely a replacement level player, but Muzzin is starting to concern me, he's been turning the puck over left and right and he can't hit the net but has no problems hitting Mitch in practice.

Dermott showed poorly (that's why he's playing - he's being showcased).

That officiating was the worst I've ever seen, using penalties to alter the flow of the game, missing stuff, weak calls, a lot of extracurricular activity with the goalies, standing in passing lanes and caught in cycles, send them back to Peewee where they should be.

On Minny a few guys caught my eye. They play a fun game with a fast D that transitions well and forwards with skill and size, but you can see they still lock it down when they need to.

Greenway is skilled and big and hard to contain. Imagine him with Mitch.

I wish we got Marcus Foligno.

Eriksson-Ek is an alt captain? f*** I'm old.

Fialol.

Kaprizov was mostly contained but showed flashes.

Hartman didn't wow me - 13-8-21 in 23, he gets 50-55 points.

Zuccarello did the second goal on purpose.

Jonas Brodin, what a stud, he's what you'd like Sandin to become.

Goligoski still has it, Kulikov still has some of it.

Dumba was blah.

Cam Talbot still has moments of inspired play, but I don't think I'd feel comfortable with him back there.

Great fight to get back into the game

The worst reffing I've seen all year, what the hell was that

Meh, skills competition doesn't mean much. Let's win in Winnipeg tomorrow
