The last two games we got all the good bounces. Tonight the Wild got them. Too many mistakes cost us the game.

The last goal, which had no impact on the game, Benning should have attacked Stewart and forced the pass instead of setting up. He had the speed going towards Stewart and could have broken up the play. No biggie, wasn't going to change the outcome of the game.

Minnesota Wild deserved the win. Execution was great all night long.

Benning was being targeted on that last Wild PP too. They went through his pass coverage for 2 good shots from the slot as well. There's a player there but lack of experience will always show for a young d man. Still don't want to rely on him for playoffs. Want depth at RD for trade deadline. Expansion draft might screw that up for us though.

Minnesota has had great execution against the Oilers since the beginning of time

Too many embarrassingly bad defensive decisions in their own end....they hung Talbot out to dry in this game.

I lost count of how many Wild players were left alone unchecked 10 feet in front of Talbot. Brutal.

To their credit the Wild are deadly when it comes to taking advantage of mistakes.

They had better be smarter against the Preds or that game could get ugly.

Wild had won 21 of their last 25 games going into tonight's tilt.
You would think part of the strategy would be 'don't turn the puck over'.

Giveaway stats for the night -

Oilers team - 21. No really, 21.
Sekera - an eye popping 6.
Pouliot - his usual 4.
The entire Wild team - 4.

There are so many ways to lose a game when you give the puck away that frequently, and your opponent never does.

RNH (6/19) and Caggiula (6/17) winning 1/3 of their draws on the night.

Kings, Jets, Stars win
Blues, Predators lose

Ducks up 3-1 on the Avs in the 3rd
Sharks tied 1-1 after two vs Chicago

Better team won.
More driven team won.

Oilers were FRUSTRATING, but with a backup in the net getting in the oilers heads....happens every time.

Yeh this was the story tonight. Can't put anything on Talbot. Minny pressure just caused too many Oiler mistakes tonight.

That was a poor game, but it's hard to say what it means. The Wild are one of the absolute best in the league. Well, on to the next game I guess

Yeah Wild have only lost 3 games in their last 26. They're red hot. We were sloppy coming off the break. Need to be better on this next set of back to backs.

Ya that was a dud.

Didn't deserve to win but definitely didn't get the bounces. Move on and beat the next guys.

No shame in losing to Minnesota. Boys always seem to struggle after some time off. Hopefully this loss woke them up and they come out with a big performance against Nashville.

Regroup after tonight's loss and shake off the remaining rust from the break. Nice to see some pushback from the team at least. The old Oilers would've caved in.

Don't try to spin this into something that isn't.

Huh? Either Slepyshev hallucinated or he was being dishonest...because the league was so certain that the puck didn't touch Slep that the scoring on the play was changed. Not sure that kind of thing goes over well in the locker room...

We won the special teams battle, but got killed 5-on-5. Russell was pretty awful, and it showed with his -4 on the night. Somehow Larsson managed to make it out with a +1, and Klefbom finished even: Thank god for our top pair continuing to hold it down. Wish Nurse would come back and take some minutes away from Russell when he's having 'one of those nights'.
