Can't really blame Test Tube for being played in all situations, when it's Todd who puts him in there. lol.

He will roll his Centers over and over. That's just how he manages.

The NHL prefers boredom over excitement. Wash and rinse, repeat.

Oilers are a mediocre hockey team. Weekly reminder this is a vast improvement over a decade long tire fire.

Improved defence gets us a point here because let's be honest this was an easy loss. Lots of passengers.

Tbh the Oil are pretty bland team when 97 isn't on the ice. Not necessarily a bad thing

Embarrassing not to score for 60+ minutes.

I think they had 2 scoring chances in the last 40 minutes. They shouldn't be content to get one point out of this game, it was a horrible performance and shouldn't be acceptable if this team is to set higher goals for themselves.

So we get the Wild again on Friday on the tail end of another back-to-back?

Nice scheduling NHL.

I'll take 3 of 4 points against a weekend back-to-back involving the Ducks and Wild.

That's a very reasonable take.

The key now is not to lose the next game. Only once this year have the Oilers lost a game and not gone on a losing streak afterwards. Need to bounce back and win the next game. The team seems to get really down after a loss.

Really liked the first period. Good zone time really physical. Looked like we were going to the second up one nill, then they got that goal. That was a back breaker for the boys. Couldn't muster enough energy in the next two periods, but held on for a point.

3/4 points this weekend is nice. They boys looked tired tonight though.

And an easy win if every player buckles up and puts in that 110% effort. Only scoring one goal with this team composition hurts. Not all skilled players are as gritty or determined as others. Which isn't fun to watch against hard working system teams.

McDavid out of the lineup and we're back looking like the 2010 Oilers

You know we were getting outshot like 10-2 in the second period and finished the period 11-10, most of which was after McDavid was gone. No one was really going tonight. Credit to the wild for playing the most boring shutdown hockey, but they did it well. McDavid had about 4 2 on 1's and only managed to get a shot on one of them, the other 3 were errant passes/a good play by Spurgeon. Just wasn't a whole lot of offence out there tonight in general.

Next game against CBJ should be a very different flavour, they are an offensive team just like us.

Excited for a track meet!

Letestu is not a 3rd line center as Coyle beat him senseless all game and why he was out there in overtime is beyond me. Kass and Maroon played a good hard game though. That was 75% of a playoff game and RNH/Ebs are nowhere near hard enough. They get knocked off the puck with easy in the offensive zone by a big, hard team like MIN and can’t break up the cycle to save themselves. That $16 million worth of salary (RNH/Ebs/Pou) got owned as well with Pouliot the only one who can play this type of game. Cags will be a nice player - next year - and they need Lander back up here ASAP. Good measuring stick for this team as this was playoff-like hockey and we still have a bunch of guys who can’t cut that style of hockey. You need skill but it MUST be accompanied by all-out effort and a willingness to win battles. If you can’t win the one on one battles through strength or smarts you are pretty much useless in this league - and we still have guys who can’t or won’t (RNH, Ebs, Letestu, Fayne).

And maybe Tmac should make sure his best player starts 3/3 in games why he always puts him out 2nd is amazing the fastest player in the league by miles . Makes no sense

1st period was very good. We could have easily been up 3-0. The rest of the game was mostly just boring cycle and trapping. Oh well I'll take the point.

A 2nd half back-to-back game against Minnesota on a Sunday might be the worst combination possible for the Oilers, only thing missing is the afternoon start. Oh and now you tell me we have to play them again on a b2b a week from now, **** that ****.
