1. Juraj Slafkovsky / Simon Nemec
26. Jiri Kulich / Maveric Lamoureux
33. Noah Warren / Tristan Luneau / Jagger Firkus
62. Lane Hutson
75. Vincenz Rohrer
92. Jordan Dumais

…

My main concern with the draft is the absence of a significant RHD prospect. One of Nemec (#1 or trade down); Lamoureux (#26) or Warren / Luneau (#33) would have gone a long way in strengthening the RHD pool, a dire organizational need, especially if Petry leaves sooner than later.

Love Warren as a bet. Respect the idea of taking him there.

Now that we know what kind of 'character' Wright has, I prefer Slaf.

I would had liked Gaucher at #26. Mesar is ok. Could had been Beck.

At 33, go with a rhd like Warren , Luneau or Chesley.

The rest is fine but I do question the little Finnish D drafted in the 6th. And also better kids from the Q than Miguel Tourigny.

#13 did happen with the NYI trade,
we could've stopped there and draft at 13 and at 66
Hughes and Gorton did not had that in mind at all. They knew they would select big LW Salf. So they made a trade to get a much needed centerman because they knew they would not claim Wright or Cooley. They would never have traded Romanov for the sake of getting #13 pick.

1. Logan Cooley (but fine with Slaf)
26. Owen Beck (ok with Mesar)
33. Jagger Firkus
62. Lane Hutson
75. Jordan Gustafson (Zhilkin or Hamara considered)
92. Jordan Dumais (George, McConnel-Barker and Forsmark considered)
127. Cedric Guindon
130. Vladimir Grudinin
162. Servác Petrovský (Fabien Wagner considered)
194. Thomas Milic
216. Michael Mastrodomenico

All and all, I don't think I hated any of the Habs pick this year. Clearly though I didn't know every pick starting with Engstrom (except of Guindon and Tourigny), I can't say I hated those...don't know them enough. Seems to me that Croteau and Nurmi are the furthest from ever making it if there's a chance. While as far as Tourigny is concerned, I'm just sure he won't make it but could be really serviceable at the AHL Level. Davidson should be helpful in the AHL pretty soon. While Engstrom for the radio round vs known name, was the biggest WTF pick....but hearing about him, he could very well just have suffered from lack of international exposure.

He fell. Bit of a risk with who was left on the board especially at defence.

Filip Mesar may have to beat hockey name in this draft

Beside ( Lane Hutson, Connor Geekie, Ty Nelson )

1. Wright (Slaf AND Dach instead makes me happy...but if there was no Dach...I might have been super grumpy/down..... it's basically Wright+Romanov+picks FOR Slaf+Dach)

26. Kulich (but happy with Mesar and it's a nice bonus that Slaf and Mesar are good buddies)

33. Firkus or Hutson or Chesley (but hoping Beck has #2 center potential or VERY solid #3 center potential)

62. Hutson (I still can't believe he was available at 62!! huge huge steal!).

92. Tucker Robertson

216. Logan Morrison
