Even deal IMO. Grundstrom was our undisputed #3rd prospect. Durzi is a bit of a wildcard I'm not high on. The 1st is a valuable piece if used properly- and 1st rounders are harder to come by in today's cap era.

Leafs got the best player but they also got a bit of a rental back, and probably have to give up Gardiner now (if that wasn't already a foregone conclusion before).

Los Angeles was winning. You know how it goes.

Can’t blame them for balancing out the anti leaf votes. A late 1st and two non roster players for a top pairing dman, it should be leafs AINEC right now.

For L.A. to win the trade it would have to be revisited in 3 years probably.

Thought Kings could have got equivalent of 2 firsts if they retained 50%. But owners dont always play that shit lol

seems like a pretty even trade all in all

Leafs got a pretty solid defenseman for the next year and a half
Kings said they wanted a 1st+prospect for Muzzin a couple weeks ago and got exactly that

Seems pretty even to me. The Leafs get a defenceman who, other than not being a RH shot, is pretty much what they need and should respond well to Babcock's system. The Kings have the riskier side of the deal, but they've got trio of decent assets for a team that needs to get a lot younger, cheaper, faster. It's a deadline rental type "win-win" deal...prolonged by a year because of Muzzin's contract.
