Speaking of a joke:
Having Parise nearly a top five prospect, IMO, is a BIG reach. The guy is still a shrimp.

Who care's how big he is?

As I pointed out in a thread a couple days ago. In the NHL this year....

- 7 out of the top 11 point getters were 6 foot or under
- 9 out of the top 12 assist getters were 6 foot or under
- 5 out of the top 11 goal scorers were 6 foot or under

5'11 185 with plenty room to bulk up is called a shrimp? Poor Yzerman, Sakic and Gomez better pack up while they still can.

The "Shrimp" just dominates college hockey, wins gold at the WJC vs a favorite Canada (Wins MVP and top forward honors). That should be used in the argument that Parise is a top 10 prospect should it?

I'll go with:

1. Ovechkin - Hard not to put #1
2. Lehtonen - Awesome, and probably closer to a 1b
3. Malkin - With so many saying he'd have been #1 any other recent draft year
4. Phaneuf - He's been Phaneufin' offenses all year.
5. Fleury - He's going to be a #1 goaltender for a long time.
6. Vanek - Solid forward. Would-be NHLer this year. And he's from Austria!
7. Coburn - All-around potential on the point. Will be a staple in the future of Atl.
8. Suter - A little rougher round the edges compared to Coburn, but equal potential
9. Parise - #11 last year on the chart, had an excellent year. Only makes sense.
10. Barker - A little ways away compared to some, but is the future of the Chi D.

Zherdev would be on the list, somewhere in the vicinity of Malkin, however he tore it up last couple months of the NHL season last year. I'd say he's graduated, even though technically he hasn't.

1. Lehtonen - Its hard to argue with what he's done so far. I'm not sold that he'll win the Vezina, Calder, Hart, and Conn Smyte next year as some may be, but he's going to win a Vezina or two down the line.
2. Ovechkin - He's very, very good. Will be a top Cap for awhile.
3. Suter - I'm high on this kid. He's going to win the Norris a few times. Huge part of Nashville's future.
4. Phaneuf - He's got #1 dman already stamped on his head.
5. Fleury - The next great French-Canadian goalie.
6. Parise - The next American superstar. He's not small as some claim. He's mid-sized.
7. Grigorenko - took the injury well. He's going to score a lot of goals.
8. Carter - He's got the package, and unlike most who do, he's willing to work for it.
9. Michalek - He's one of those sure-bets that will turn out to be a great player. Calder canidate.
10. Malkin - All around player with a ton of potential. I've never seen him play, but what I've read looks great.

Not THE Glen Hanlon!! Wow, put him at #1 then.

And while we're at it, I'll put Kalinin as the best defensemen in the league because James Patrick himself (THE James Patrick) said that Kalinin is the most talanted player he's seen since Mario Lemieux.

I'll listen to the guy's coach over any poster here, sorry.

Did you all know that Milan Michalek is undergoing yet another surgery on his knee? This time due to an infection that developed after the second surgery. :banghead:

So a guy like Tuomo Ruutu who has had a knee surgery, and now a solder surgery shouldn't be considered a good player because of injuries?

This isn't rare for a young kid who plays a physical style (Michalek is quite competitive) to be injured in his first year of NHL. Look at Nathan Horton. I wouldn't dismiss Michalek just because of his troubles early...the kid is an elite talent.

I can't believe people are mentioning Andrei Mezjaros :dunno:
