I'm guessing:

Brendan Morrow- for more than he deserves, slow player and stupid penalties all day long, yeah :sarcasm:. ($3.6 million per year X 2 years)
Jason Labarbera- solid but under-appreciated back-up good team guy and good signing. ($1.1 million per year X 2 years)
Daniel Cleary- got a lot of hate in his Oiler days, but does some solid work along the boards and does little things other players on this team aren't willing to do. ($2.75 million per year x 3 years)
Will Acton- Don't really know much about him, but I suspect he won't provide us with much in the way of quality minutes in the NHL, but we need more center depth so meh. :dunno: ($800k per year x 1 year)

and I think we will get one mystery center signing from the leftovers of the first 2 days of the UFA market.

edit: forgot I was supposed to provide length and value for contract. I'm hoping MacT does better than what my guesses are. Also I was thinking Nystrom was UFA from the way people were talking about him, substituted Cleary who MacT has a good relationship with.

Remember that?

Exactly, I don't know why some people are convinced that Bryzgalov is going to sign here. Sure, MacTavish will obviously make a pitch, but destination seems to matter alot to Bryzgalov according to that interview. I'm probably overwhelmed by that interview when it comes to the thought of him signing here, but i don't know, unless we outbid the other teams by alot, i just don't see him signing here.

True, but I also remember this:

@ 1:10

Not saying that I want him, but he's just a weird guy.

Nuge and Yak will not get more than Hall. With the way other stars are getting paid, this is ****ing amazing. It seems like 6 million is the average for 2nd line players nowadays, but we'll be locking up our stars for that much.

Players that I would be happy if we signed:

F
Horton
Clarkson (depending on the price. 4 is ideal, 5 is a lot, 6 is ludicrous).

MacArthur
Raymond
Cooke
Gordon
Pouliot
Chipchura
Nystrom
Halishchuk
Hendricks
Steckel

D
Ference
Hainsey
Kuba

G
Bryzgalov
Emery
Khudobin

Andrew Ference is a bum.

He's been a sheltered bum in Boston and was an overachieving bum in Calgary.

If you hate the idea of bringing Tom Gilbert back, you'll hate paying Ference more than twice as much as him once you see him in a handful of games here. He's an abomination with the puck and his physical game doesn't nearly make up for his defensive lapses.

And I'm saying this because I know we're going to sign him.

**** yeah. Ference is a pylon. Managed to make the Bruins look mortal almost any time he was on the ice. Clearest weak link stuff and a guy that you'd try to not have on the ice much. Hawks particularly were feasting chances with Ference on the ice.

Can't stand Ference. With my luck he's an Oiler tomorrow:rant:

If we can add 3 or 4 of those forwards, 1 of those D and 1 of those goalies then I say we are in pretty good shape

I would completely support an insane RFA offer at Piets. It would easily revolutionize this team and can open up the opportunity to trade Eberle for a area of weakness and help manage the salary cap.

C'mon MacT think BOLD!

Khudobin or Emery. No thanks to Bryz. Talented, but apparently everyone in the Flyers exit interviews said they hated him.

And I also fully endorse a Pietrangelo offer. That kid is a STUD.

Lmao if you put all those pylons along the blue line it would be pretty hard for the opposing team to skate past lol

Goaltending is the Oilers number one priority. They have to either sign Bryzgalov, Tim Thomas, Emery, or Nabokov. There best bet is to get one of these guys but get the cheapest one and go out and sign a defensemen. Either Andrew Ference, Ian White, or Zidlicky.

Wtf? Goaltending isn't even close to our number 1 priority. We have only 2 NHL capable centers and MPS is our only quality third line player assuming Hemsky leaves. We need bottom 6 forwards. We could also use a 2nd line left wing and a top 4 dman. Yes we need a back up goalie but it's not the Oilers number one priority.
