Dallas and Winnipeg got stronger, most importantly in goal. The Central division is about to get even tighter.

I know a lot of people are talking **** about Marleaus contract, and it's more than I'd ideally wanted, but Hainsey, Moore and Marleau are nice additions to the Leafs.

Best? Hard to say. Nobody really stands out above everyone else to me. Kinda a weird year

Leafs. That forward group is now without a doubt the best in the entire NHL.

The leafs are going to lose one or both of JVR and Bozak, by adding a 38 year old 6 m dollar 46 pt player despite patty m playing all 82 and with jumbo joe.

What else suggests Toronto did the best, the blockbuster deals for Hainsey and Dom Moore or was it the essential re-signing of Garrett sparks.

Everyone knew those guys were goners before this deal. They don't want to give JVR 8 years. So what's the big deal?

I liked what Nashville added to their already good team (Bonino, Emelin, Hartnell). Losing Colin Wilson for a 4th wasn't great but must've been a cap dump they needed to make.

IMO, yes. They had the best depth last year before adding Marleau. They had a 60 point player on their 3 top lines last season.

The rangers had a 20 goal scorer on every line.

Saying the leafs have the best offense is one thing saying they easily have the best is getting carried away.

Anyway this year teams that could and probably will outscore the leafs....

-penguins
-capitals
-rangers
-lightning
-blue jackets
-wild
-blues
-jets
-oilers

It's not much of a stretch to say these teams could also as well....preds.coyotes, flyers, sens, sharks, stars, even buffalo adding a healthy Eichel, Nylander, pominville, and perhaps a baptiste/mittlestadt

Nashville. Bonino was one of the best pickups and Emelin will be much better off when he's not asked to be a top 4.

Yea....no they didnt. Sure they had a sixty point player...etc.) but that doesnt make them the best. Do the Leafs have good depth, yup. Do they have a great forward group...also yes. Is it the best? Nope.

Oh dear ..

Hawks and Canucks? What...

Hawks- Sharp rounds out that Top-6 nicely for a cheap deal. Couple cheap role players which they also needed.

Canucks- They still suck, but they improved their depth for not much money at all.

This was an insanely weak FA class, anyone who overpaid for any player was a loser IMO
