Right now, it's Calgary. But the Jets are no joke, they've got experience on their side and are deep as hell. Leafs could turn it on anytime also.

I'd say the Flames... But I think they need a better goalie and 1 more top 6 to beat the Leafs. Jets and Leafs would be a coin toss if I was betting...

I'll give the flames the top spot right now, for the moment.
I still think the jets are the best Canadian team tho. Just based off last years results and continuing their success this year

But leafs and jets are no coin flip
Jets will most likely be a favourite going in the first round

Dont think anyone would be surprised to see leafs out in the first round again

Flames
Jets
Leafs

Winnipeg and Calgary are just more complete/balanced teams

I always wonder why some people vote for the obvious wrong answers. No disrespect to these teams, but the Senators, Canucks, Oilers, and even Canadiens are not the best Canadian team, especially when it says "currently". So, why do some people (not a lot but still) vote for them? I would love to hear their opinion and maybe I am wrong.

I think all the teams are very even, Toronto missed some key players early, Calgary has Mike Smith and Laine has been cold for Winnipeg.

Winnipeg MB.
I voted for Calgary but they haven't had to deal with virtually any injuries. Makes a big difference.

Everyone healthy, I think all 3 teams are very even.

How did they do last year? That's a pretty good argument Haha

Ya. Last year is a great way of measuring who is better now. A+ argument. Especially considering the Jets have missed the playoffs 2 out of the last 3 years.

Obviously the standings say the Flames are but I can understand the reluctance of some fans to annoint them. It generally takes more than a 50 game performance to prove your worth.

Calgary has more man games lost than Winnipeg and Toronto.
We had a stretch where we didn't have: 2C, 2RW, 3RW, 5D, 6D, recent our 4D.

The only thing we've avoided is the injury to the top pair and top line. Outside of that, this team has had a bit of injuries.

They’re missing two dman one of them being their most promising young D. They missed Backlund for a couple weeks, gio for two games, smith and rittich for a couple. It’s not a lot but it’s not nothing and they definitely have shown they have ridiculous depth especially on D.

Backlund's missed 4 games, Gio 2, I guess Hamonic has missed 10 which is somewhat significant.

The rest are bottom pairing defensemen and Frolik (is that correct, I remember him being healthy scratched as well).

They really haven't had any significant injuries. They do have great depth on defense though to replace the bottom pairing guys.

Leafs had #1C out for 14 games, plus Nylander's hold-out. Jets have had #1 D out for 16 games, top line winger out for 8 (and both will continue to be out).

Man games lost is a bad stat if it doesn't account for who they are for. Would you trade Giordano being out for 16 games instead of losing Stone/Valimaki?

Jets had a bunch of injuries the year before
They placed 2nd last year and knocked out the president trophy winners

And they're first in their division while not even playing their best hockey with injuries to boot

Jets get the nod at the end of the day But I'll give the flames the top spot for the moment

Every team has injuries. Very poor excuse.

Rankings are hard because of how teams match up with one another. As a Flames fan, I'm more terrified of almost anyone else in the Pacific than the Jets when it comes down to a 7-game series

And I say this as someone who thinks the Jets may be the most complete team in the west.
