Sure he is. Two 32-goal, 61 & 55 point seasons say so. Another 55 point season is about to happen.

Horvat Scores fewer goals, gets fewer points, and isn't as tenacious or as good defensively.

Kadri is 3C on the Leafs. Horvat doesn't take that away from him.

:)

Kadri doesn't even kill penalties. He's worse all around.

It’s not true at all. If your 4th line center is on pace for roughly 70 ish points, you’d have a dynasty. If you want to say he hasnt gotten there yet, then yes that’s fair. But then your also arguing Matthews is not a first line center as well since he has only had a career high of 69 points, no?
But if you were to take a player playing on the 1st line, and drop him to 4th line, he's not going to score the same number of points. Not remotely close, in fact.

It's the Matt Stajan example from earlier. when Sundin was on the team, and Stajan was behind him, he scored 30 to 35 points a year. Sundin left, and since the Leafs had no one deserving of a first line centre role, Stajan got the job. He scored nearly 60 points 2 years in a row. When he got pushed down the depth chart in Calgary, he immediately went back to being a 30 point player.

Same thing is going on with Horvat.

3 or 4 in Toronto. Bo and Kadri would be interchangeable based on what you want. In a year or 2 it may be Bo 3 and Kadri 4, but not this year.

Very, very few teams wouldn't have him at least as their #2.

Leafs @ #3 behind JT/AM
Penguins @ #3 behind Sid/Geno
Caps @ #3 behind Backstrom/Kuzy
Tampa Bay @ #3 behind Stamkos/Point

Maybe Florida behind Barkov/Trochek

Outside of that, he's probably everyones #2C at the least.

Nah it would be this year, as a matter of fact if the Leafs were to aquire him today he would play right away at 3C or top 6 wing.

Imagine having a 70 point player as your 4th line C. Man you’d put those 80’s Oiler teams to shame !
While this argument is going on, I think it's worth noting that, regardless of which of the two is actually better than the other, neither of them would be on the 4th line in real life; one would get converted to a winger.

Interesting that Kadri couldn't even score that much when he was forced up the lineup and played more minutes on a bad team then

Because pace isn't a thing and Matthews can't top 70 points right? Don't use the crappy arguments other people use against the Leafs on other players

how is pace "not a thing"? are you disputing the existence of data points taken over time? time doesnt exist to you?

I'm curious as to how time doesnt exist tho, maybe this means I've never been late to work after all
He’s using it as an example because most leaf posters use it as a way to discredit other players. They say ‘pace doesn’t mean anything’ and ‘until he actually hits that total he’s nothing more then a xx player’ all while ignoring Matthews. By that logic he is nothing more then a 69 point player.

With the Flyers it depends... right now Giroux is back at C, and has been for ~8 games, with Couturier at 2C.

But if they had Horvat my guess would be they moved Giroux back to wing.
