I have come to the conclusion that Claude's system is flawed. His lack of offence constantly puts a stress on our goaltending and defense. Prior years they have been up to the task but with the departure of some key defensive players, and locker room voices, I truly believe Claudes time has come. the league is moving in a different direction and he is not accommodating it.

I think it has more to do with players moving and aging. Chara and Sedenberg are old, no real goalscoring threat (Seguin, Horton), our #2 D was given away for cookies, 4th line has been a hindrance instead of a help. The list goes on and Chiarelli hasn't done jack to fix it.

its all the system. I apologize for naming claude in as the figure head, but I think chia should be the first to go, but I think they come and go as a pair.

I hope they don't make the playoffs. The team isn't going anywhere this year, and I'd rather have a 1% shot at McDavid and Chiarelli get canned.

Claude has mainly plugs out there.
If he 'opens it up' , we lose 6-2 most nights.

You play a style with the resources you have.

sadly his GM, who is tied at the hip to him, says prices are too high this year so he couldn't make a good team better. cheap ****

You mention the departure of defensive players and locker room voices but neglect to mention that the team has been missing it's first line center for half the season. That will take a toll on any teams scoring.

What is it about Claude's system right now that is stifling scoring? I see a lot of players missing good scoring chances and over passing.

yet we pay players like Lucic 6 million. that pay grade tells me you lift the players around you to score.

Starting next year, - too late this year - in order to save his coaching career, Claude will have to adapt to the new-kids-on-the block, namely, the skill prospects in Providence who are in the pipeline. Spooner, Pastrnak, and throw in Connolly, are the vanguard of what's to come. I believe Claude can be convinced to take the offence uptempo when his roster demands it. It's more fun to win 6-4, than 2-1, or continue to lose in shootouts because of overall lack of skill amongst the forwards.

My honest fear about this team is that we will fall into the same old song and dance of the 90's. make the playoffs. Spend crap loads of money to go to games, and then lose in the first two rounds because management is a bunch of dingleberries.
