Calling out Subban is ********. Johansen, Neal and Forsberg have not played well. Laviolette should be canned.

Johansen, Neal and Forsberg have a combined 3 goals.

Matt Irwin has 3 goals by himself.

That tells you all you need to know. Any other narrative about Subban being a distraction or Rinne being terrible is pedaled by people who haven't bothered taking 10 seconds to look anything up and are just going with their preconceived notions going into the season.

This was the same problem redneck fans of the NFL had with Cam Newton who by all accounts is a good teammate. Nhl fans need to stop emulating Don Cherry and this ridiculous notion that showing emotion and having fun is harmful. Opinions like this are why the NHL is boring and stuck in the past.

I don't think that's what is being said at all.

Anyone who has played or coached hockey (including Cherry himself) would have seen "goofing off" like that. But you need to know the time, the room and the moment. When you get a guy going on and on like that without any encouragement/joining in from his teammate... well, let's just say that the guy isn't "commanding" the room.

Leadership of a hockey team is a pretty delicate balance of many emotions (aggression, frustration, empathy & quiet resolve just as a start). PK can be an emotional leader in a positive way, we've all seen it on the ice... but (as the video shows) there may also be times when his emotion is disconnected from his team-mates. It doesn't take long for the show to get old. What he needs on his side is a more subdued guy (Price for example) whispering in his ear when it is time to just shut up.

It's completely to-be-expected that maybe he hasn't found balance in Nashville AND that he's a-priori a strong personality that will have influence (in either direction). It's pretty normal for a period of storming before norming, especially in rooms where established leadership roles already exist (as they would have in Nashville).

The problem with Nashville is they were/are WAY overrated, especially after weakening their defense.

Dear lord. As mentioned their scorers aren't scoring. It's a month into the season. It's not the trade or anything. It's their forwards need to put pucks in the net, and Rinne needs to be an average goalie.

Rinne has been more than an average goalie in many of the games they've played. Rinne was the sole reason they had a chance against Los Angeles, Dallas, and Detroit. Rinne also played a big part of at least getting them a point against the two cellar teams that won in a SO. Yes he needs to be better, but he's been one of the best players for the Preds so far.

10-1-1. Enough said.

Were they not off to a 9-0-0 start last year? They always come out strong and then struggle. They've been outplayed in pretty much all their games recently, getting outshot badly. What if Carey gets hurt again? Will Therrien be able to adjust his system?

Not many Preds fans would agree. He's let in softies in almost every game, especially the last 2.

He has reactionary issues now a days and he can almost never make a big stop when needed, but I don't really agree that those goals were soft soft, just should have had goals. He's also kept us in many games.

It's not about coming out strong--it's about Price coming out strong.

MTL's PDO was at like 108% the other day. That's ridiculously high. Their defense is very bad, they surrender a lot of shots for too.

Basically this. subban is not the problem. Their top 4 offensive guys from last year are playing terrible this year. Never liked laviolette either. A coaching and system change will help them make the playoffs.

To be fair Rinne and Subban ARE problems, but they're small problems. All of those small problems add up fast when everything's going wrong.

Most of our players are playing cold at the same time, Matt Freakin Irwin is our most competent scorer this year. :amazed:

I'm sorry Preds fans. This is exactly what Ducks fans went through last year. The team has an astronomically low and unsustainable shooting percentage. That will normalize.

PS I'm still bitter about the playoffs last year. ;)

This level of suck is unsustainable for Nashville just looking at the stats alone. I think they'll turn it around.
