This was the same problem redneck fans of the NFL had with Cam Newton who by all accounts is a good teammate. Nhl fans need to stop emulating Don Cherry and this ridiculous notion that showing emotion and having fun is harmful. Opinions like this are why the NHL is boring and stuck in the past.
I don't think that's what is being said at all.
Anyone who has played or coached hockey (including Cherry himself) would have seen "goofing off" like that. But you need to know the time, the room and the moment. When you get a guy going on and on like that without any encouragement/joining in from his teammate... well, let's just say that the guy isn't "commanding" the room.
Leadership of a hockey team is a pretty delicate balance of many emotions (aggression, frustration, empathy & quiet resolve just as a start). PK can be an emotional leader in a positive way, we've all seen it on the ice... but (as the video shows) there may also be times when his emotion is disconnected from his team-mates. It doesn't take long for the show to get old. What he needs on his side is a more subdued guy (Price for example) whispering in his ear when it is time to just shut up.
It's completely to-be-expected that maybe he hasn't found balance in Nashville AND that he's a-priori a strong personality that will have influence (in either direction). It's pretty normal for a period of storming before norming, especially in rooms where established leadership roles already exist (as they would have in Nashville).
