What was the greatest tournament win by a men's team other than Canada?

Canada vs. USSR= During ColdWar and the ColdWar of hockey...

So if the Canadians could injured on purpose the best player of the Soviets in 1972 in MOSCOW and effectively steal the series you don't think they could almost fix the games in Canada with their fans referees and everything?

Kharlamov 1972: Well documented all the people involved confirmed it, even the criminal admitted it. " Well Bob this guy is killing us he's unstoppable go injure him"=The Lesson of 1972.

1972= Team USSR best team ever.
The dirty play in that series wasn't completely one sided.
Boris Mikhailov twice kicked Gary Bergman cutting him with his skate.
Canada was also without their best player in 72. Bobby Orr, who the USSR had no answers to in 76.

I accept a loss and respect the result when the conditions are the same for both teams.

But those two tournaments in 1984 and 1987 don't fall into this category. The reffing was biased for Canada and it was the biggest reason why Canada won the games.

You are blind not to see it, but what can you expect from a nationalist?

If the USSR was as superior as you say why couldn't they overcome the supposedly bad officiating?

Canada did it in the Summit Series in the games in Russia. In game 6 of that series Canada was given 31 penalties as opposed to the 4 that were given to the USSR.

Excesses are for losers, Canada won the 84 and 87 CC series's. You mock Canadians for saying they consider tournaments they won as victories than go on to claim as victories for the USSR who lost.

I'd say this one recent one hands down.

BTW those 31 penalties TAKEN by canada in game 6 of that series was because they were goons, not athletes. Blob Clark, nuff said.

I hate to be biased by recent events, but this years WJC has to be among the top contenders in this category.

Come on guys, let's be serious. This game has been great and we will be celebrating for 1 week lol, but still this has nothing to do with 1980. Tonight two comparable teams clashed and one won. In the 1980 it was a bunch of unknowns vs the top team in the world.

Why is WJC even in consideration? Sure it's entertaining, but it's a youth tournament that only people in Canada go crazy for.
