Franzen - Z - Brunner
Filppula - Datsyuk - Nyquist
Tatar - Helm - Cleary
Miller - Abdelkader - Tootoo

Kronwall - White
Ericsson - Smith
Lashoff - Kindl/Colaiacovo

Howard
Gustafsson

Let Mrazek get the workload in the AHL rather than backing up Jimmy. One game does not kick Jimmy out of the starter's seat.

And yes... Quincey, Bertuzzi, and Sammy can gtfo... Not like Bert and High and Wide can stay healthy enough to play anyway. And Q was sent packing long ago for a reason. Not good enough to be in our top 6. Still isn't.

^ I'll take Sammy's size and R shot over Cleary anyday. Otherwise agree with all.

Switch Cleary with Tootoo otherwise Perfect!

With so many of our younger guys coming in and looking really good (Tatar, Andersson, Mrazek, etc..) who do you want to send down and who would you keep in the lineup?

I think there's a thread on this topic already, but I'll play along.

With everyone healthy and access to prospects in GR too:

Filppula - Datsyuk - Nyquist
Franzen - Zetterberg - Brunner
Tatar - Helm - Tootoo
Abdelkader - Sheahan - Mursak
Andersson, Eaves

Kronwall - Lashoff
Ericsson - Smith
Huskins - White
Quincey

Howard
Mrazek

That leaves Bert, Sammy, Cleary, Miller, Emmerton, Kindl, Colaiacovo and Gustavsson out. Oh well, that would still be my favorite lineup this year.

Like others said, let Mrazek be the starter for the Griffins all year, and he can be up next year.

I think Tatar/Filp/Sammy could work as a third line for sure.

Tatar and Filp both showed great puck protection today, and in the past. Though Tatar's only had a few games I guess. I think on the third line, with a shooter like Sammy, they could do some real damage. Tatar is a little ball of energy out there. I love it.

Filppula is a significantly better player on the wing than at center.

Understand why you'd want him on the 3rd line though given the state of our bottom 6, and the lack of offensive talent there.

These would be my lines without sammy or cleary, neither one I am a fan of.

I know these look a little crazy but hear me out...

Filppula-Z-Brunner >>Brunner and Z obviously have chemistry this year, and fil-z showed they had great chemistry last year w/ hewhoshouldnotbenamed.
Nyquist-Datsyuk-Franzen >>Nyquist gives Datsyuk someone to play catch with, and Franzen brings a big body and a shooter.
Tatar-Emmerton-Bertuzzi >> I'm not saying Emmerton is anything special, but I think offensively he is a better option as a 3C than either Abby or Helm. Would like to see what he could do with a little more mins and a little better linemates.
Abby-Helm-Tootoo >> Awesome 4th line, physical, gritty, and fast.

at this point i'll be happy if at least one of Tatar/Nyquist is in the lineup and nothing monstrously stupid happens(like having Filppula at Center or having Datsyuk and Zetterberg on the same line)

OK, this is something I'd like to try. If it works, awesome. If not, no big deal, most of these guys could be sent down. We just need a lot of guys to get "injured" to give it a shot.

Fil-Pavs-Mule
Sheahan-Z-Brunner
Abdelkader-Helm-Tootoo
Andersson-Emmerton-Ferraro

Yes, I want Nyquist and Tatar to be given a legit shot but it will never happen. They are "top 6" guys and so long as we have to put Bert, Sammy and Cleary into our top 6 because they are "thick" then Tatar and Nyquist will never be given a shot. They should eat lots of junk food and get up to 200 lbs to be given a shot on a scoring line.

This lineup features one "thick" guy on each line:

Mule
Sheahan
Abdelkader
Andersson

Your top two lines have plenty of skill. Sheahan has some offensive potential so he can easily replace Bert, Cleary, and Sammy. Your third line is a checking/energy line. The fourth line should be able to set up shop in the offensive zone., All three guys can contribute on the PK. Andersson is good on faceoffs.

Realistically Cleary will be on the 3rd line and Tatar will be in GR, but there it is. Tried to be realistic in terms of decisions Babs and Holland would make. I think this is a deep line up that can compete on most nights (if the D doesn't poop the bed). I think all 3 pairs can play a close to even amount of ice time every night. All pairs pretty balanced.
