Belated thumbs up for Unwound. They’re so good.

4 pages and not a single mention (unless my eyes tricked me) of my favorite band of all times...

1. Mr. Bungle (nothing really comes close to it)
2. Secret Chiefs 3 (they came in late 90s and only got 2 albums out before 2000, but they're the closest thing to #1)
3. Diamanda Galas
4. John Zorn
5. Beck
6. Death Ambient
7. Suicidal Tendencies (sentimental choice, but I still think The Art of Rebellion is an underrated album)
8. Boredoms
9. Red Hot Chili Peppers
10. Ruins (the japanese duo)

Pretty sure I'm forgetting important stuff...

Weird decade for me musically. After mass consumption of new music in the 80s and stockpiling what I wanted from the 60s, I kind of tuned out during the 90s, The only band whose new records I consistently anticipated was Teenage Fanclub.

--Teenage Fanclub

--Belle & Sebastian (more a 00s-present band, but it was their late 90s output that first hooked me)

--The Magnetic Fields (*retroactive selection, as I only discovered them last month. I’ve been overdosing since and love them. This pick includes three side-project bands -- The 6ths, Future Bible Heroes and The Gothic Archies)

--The Cranberries (can’t really listen to them anymore, but bought all their records at the time)

--Sloan ("Twice Removed" is still among my favorite albums)

--R.E.M. (their best output was in the 80s, but “Automatic For the People” is a great 90s album)

--Roxette

Just based on their 90's output (in no order):

INXS
REM
The Church
Bruce Springsteen
Nirvana
Johnny Cash
No Doubt
Midnight Oil
Queen
Jackson Browne

Not really a fan of the 90's. Most of the listed had better decades.
