No joking: what does Eichel fetch in a trade these days?

I would like to start over. Completely over. Everything about this team sucks ass, including Eichel.

Russ Brandon needs to be kicked in the groin and escorted out of Buffalo, and never allowed to return.

In all honesty, you have to wonder what the hell Russ Brandon was saying to Eichel in the locker room immediately after tonight's game!

Anyway, I am on board with Operation Groin Stomp. Man has more lives than a cat.

Russ Brandon must have some very special skills....

None of which involve anything resembling sports acumen.....

You scored as many nhl goals by going to the show as the entire team has in three games.
Didn't even know cs (nice abbrev.) was going to be that close. The night gets better!

So i had the misfortune of being present for this ga... not sure i should call it a game. They're so much worse in person than watching on tv. Lehner will never stop a ps/shootout ever. The crosby and hornqvist goals could see them coming from a mile away almost happend in slow motion the guys on the ice just standing around watching them both causually skate uncontested right into the slot. Nearly identical goals.

And off ice things weren't much better. Traffic in downtown buffalo getting in to the game seemed worse than usual, which was odd considering theres no way there was the claimed 19000+ sellout crowd in the arena. Concession stands were as much of a disorganized mess as the on ice product. Stood in the pizza logs / burgers / fries / etc line for a half hour missing warmups while the staff wandered around looking confused and eventually stopped taking orders long enough that we moved next door for the privilege of spending over $20 for 2 slices of pizza and a soft drink to share with my wife. The arena atmosphere was the worst ive ever experienced. Even the pens fans present couldn't be bothered to get much of a cheer going this time. Least enjoyable time I've ever had at a hockey game. Might be a while before i bother coming back to buffalo for another game. So not worth it.

U: and here's the kicker. Going to the game in pittsburgh tomorrow also. Kill me now.

Liked Criscoulo and Scandella
Agreed. Scandella seemed to be playing angry. Crisco seemed like the only one giving a damn.

Also noticed pominville a lot in the NZ, seemed like he was always trying to attack with speed and quick passes and give n go's but nobody else seemed to even have any clue what to do.

And everytime i see moulson i mentally play the "what would you say you do here" gif in my mind.

I mean it is something to consider. You could get 3-4 solid players I'd think if you trade Jack. I think the hype was far more than the reality of who Jack is so it's possible.

Shutout 3 games in a row....Impressive. Has to be close to a modern day record if not one already.

There's almost nothing to look forward to on this team, Nylander is a bust I'm betting just like most of our first round picks over the last 14 years. The last good player we picked in the first round was Vanek in 2003.
2004 Stafford was ok,
2005 Marak Zagrapan. BUST
2006 Dennis Persson. BUST
2007(no 1st)
2008 Myers. BUST. Ennis was good considering he was almost a 2nd rounder.
2009 Zack Kassian. BUST, traded for Hodgson extra BUST.
2010 Mark Pysyk. BUST..and we traded him for an even worse defenseman.
2011 Joel Armia. BUST
2012 Grigorenko and Girgensons. both BUSTS
2013 Ristolainen and Zadorov. TBD not sure how Zadorov has been doing but Risto is trending the wrong way...
2014 Reinhart..trending the wrong way
2015 Eichel...trending the wrong way but the best player we got since Vanek.
2016 Nylander...? I think he will be a bust personally.
2017 Mittlestadt. I think he will turn into a great player..but watch him pull a Vesey because that would be so Buffalo.

You want a good team you need to draft well in round 2 and beyond. This team can't even draft well in the 1st round. They decided to rebuild in an era where the lottery system gets more jacked up every single year and being dead last doesn't even guarantee you a top 3 pick anymore..thanks NHL for keeping the same teams in the basement. The Sabres need Dahlin but he will probably end up going to Boston or some other team that just barely misses the playoffs.

They will continue to be bad for many years thanks to the lottery changes and drafting terribly all those years.

I hung onto my season tickets all throughout the tank years and continued to pay the unjustified 3%-5% increases each year as well. But there is absolutely zero chance I'm renewing my seats for next season. I hope a lot of people follow suit and the arena is more empty next year than it is this year (and it's already noticeably empty). I love that ticket invoice every spring where they act like only increasing your tickets 3% for a borderline unwatchable product is doing you a favor. $50 face value seats go for $11 on stubhub the day of games. Maybe this organization needs a reality check.

At least the tank felt like we had something to look forward to. This is the team we have. This team that has a lack of talent, and grit, and compete, is what they're going to be for the foreseeable future. Sure, they'll move some pieces around, but unless they plan on overhauling everything again, then this is what they are. A team that is going to remain in the bottom 5 of the east for years to come.

Watching this product give anyone else a headache? Hoping it's not just me and ends up being a tumor in the ole head-a-roo.

Housley is in over his head and has no idea's left to help this team. Can anything save us from ourselves?

I was at the game and I really wanted them to just goon it up and play dirty as shit in the third period.

"It's quite clear we've established that these players had no right to run Dan Bylsma out of town last spring. But so far, Phil Housley has had no answers either."
Can we agree to old pal Harrington?

Same. It'd at least be entertaining, and maybe give other teams something to worry about. We have zero physicality on this team.
