Yeah same thing here. People should only make evaluations starting the 20 game mark.

Hard to imagine that we had multiple posts after the slow start that the Avs could miss the playoffs, then again it's not hard at all as this is HF boards

It is kind of nuts though to be 28-3-2 in our last 32 games.

But what's more insane IMO is the way they've lost the 5 games we have lost in that stretch.

One loss was to Nahville in the Covid cup where we had to dress just 11F, 5D, and 1G who made his first start in over a year and wasn't expected to start until an hour or so before game time. Another loss to Nahville on probably the worst Too Man men penalty call you will ever see and in OT no less.

An 8-3 stomping against Toronto that was also one of the worst goaltending performances you'll ever see from Johansson our 3rd string Goalie who isn't even on the team anymore.

An OT loss to Ottawa where Johansson got pulled for being awful again and Annunen made his first ever NHL appearance.

And then we lost 3-1 to Dallas where we were losing 2-0 after Kuemper allowed 2 goals on the first 2 shots he faced.

Honestly outside of the Dallas game it genuinely feels like we easily could have won every other game we lost if it wasn't for bullshit circumstances mostly out or the Avs control.

We're not even playing particularly great hockey right now. But with solid goaltending we are almost impossible to beat the last two months unless covid or bullshit officiating gets in the way.

I don't think anyone has had a contract year as good as Kadri ever in the NHL or honestly any sport. I can't think of someone having this much of an outlier season, during a contract year.

Other guys have had huge contract seasons, but usually they weren't matching their career high in points halfway through the season and being in the top three in scoring.
