Speculation: Weber out 5-6 months... what's next?

People need to actually look at the details of Weber's contract before calling it an albatross. His actual pay is already way down to 6M for the next 4 years then he probably retires. No chance he sticks around playing for a million in the final years. It's not a big deal if he stays in a mentor role for the Habs, especially when they don't need the cap space.

The Price contract on the other hand, it's so bad I would deal that for Loui Eriksson straight up.
Canucks would reject that shit in an instant.

What's next? Allow him to recover and come back 100% healthy. He has successful surgeries and he should be well rested and refreshed when he comes back and gets back to game shape.

Question: Does anybody have any past comparison on a player who is 32, near Weber's size, and had surgeries like this? I know Markov had a knee surgery at a similar age and came back fine. Anybody else that came back but fell off in production? Looking for comparables.

The only logical thing to do is buy out Carey Price.

The Habs would be free and clear by the 26-27 season. Think about how many good prospects could be aculated by then. But seriously, this is the only way they get rid of the Price contract....well this or adding ALOT to a trade deal.

I think they should look at puck moving to be quicker like Bergevin wanted. Enstrom would be of interest and will fill a role when Weber comes back too.

Enstrom would be a good fill in and trade piece to deal out at the deadline.

Habs aren't making the playoffs but dealing out Patches, Byron, Plekanec and a UFA Dman like Enstrom could help net a lot of valuable long term assets.

Enstrom is no longer a puck mover or the speediest of guys... There is a reason why he remains unsigned lol. Those are not attributes you want in a very undersized d-man.
