We need to start diving and embellishing like Boston.

They’d draw more penalties if they actually drove to the house when they get a step on guys as opposed to turning away because they’re afraid of getting hit. Nylander does it constantly, and that’s from a guy who thinks Nylander is a good player.

They don’t hit anyone and the whole league knows it so of course there is extra attention being paid to their stick work. You can’t have your stick horizontal on anyone who has even a half step on you, especially near their hands. Ya sure maybe we’ve gotten the short end of the stick the last few games but they need to stop with the pointless little hooks and slashes on guys that clearly have them beat. Marner’s hook in OT is a prime example, he barely impacted the initial shot with his hook and essentially gave CBJ 2 chances to end it. If you’re beat let him go or if you really think it’s going to save a goal haul the guy down entirely.

muzzin literally got tomahawked in the head. Right in front of the referee.
Marchand was actually spearing muzzin around the ref who was yelling at him to stop. That’s a no choice 5 and a game.

That has nothing to do with it.

The leafs got pumped last night. No question. By pure play Boston deserved to win. 4-2 was flattering.

Even the night before. Marincin was literally dragged into the goalie.

They are a good team outside of it all but the leafs easily could have had a totally different fate if it was called remotely fairly.

1st goal. Rielly actually knocked over from behind no where near the puck to allow pasta in on net.

2nd goal. Gauthier is actually crosschecked about 5 times right before the goal.

honestly the bruins deserved to win. They have a good team without the rest of it. But pasta crying to the ref about a phantom hook. But then doing a two hander.

Bruins fans are so deluded that they think that chara not making any attempt to. Turn and stiff arming a guy in the face is somehow normal?

It’s nuts.

Hell baby
Refs are against us?

Boo f’ing hoo.

You can tell when we lose a game. Smart money says a loss leads directly to either a Babcock or Ref thread.

Stop being so rational!

Btw this is literally complaining about officials not making calls and you’re suggesting embellishment so you get them..it’s a thread complaining about the refs. It is what it is

Just a theory - I think refs are calling penalties more on how players react rather than seeing the infraction. Watch Boston players, they are excellent at this...if a stick touches their hands, they stop moving and act like their hands are stuck. If a stick touches their legs, they go down. Any pressure on their back and they flop.

I noticed it tonight with Columbus too. Every little tap sent their players into a speed wobble or they went down, even just the slightest brushing.

We need to start drawing more penalties. Refs are not capable of actually calling the infractions by the book due to the speed and complexity of the game, so you gotta sell it a little.
bad idea imo, one of the benefits seeing Kadri moved is I no longer have to see his feeble attempts at drawing penalties, how about if the Leaf players succeed in spite of uncalled infractions, not lose because of said infractions.

If you want to draw penalties you just need sustained pressure in the offensive zone. Instead of being hemmed in your own end most of the game like they usually do now.

Honourable but until reffing can be automated, it will cost them a lot of success.

What’s the most incredible is that clear suspendible spearing had days to be reviewed.

If we don't dive and embellish like Boston, they win because we don't get PPs.

If we do dive and embellish like Boston, they win because the Leafs actually get penalties for it, and then we stop getting any real PPs because the refs think we're diving for the rest of the season.

All teams are not treated equally, by design. That's just the sad reality of the NHL.

I think you’re throwing tomahawks wrong...

If this stupid Toronto penalty policy continues, the Leafs should consider building their next generation of teams a la Broad Street Bullies and really make those penalties worthwhile.

Yup. Just ice Wilson - Lucic - Kane - Marchand - Domi type players.

Doesnt matter if we score or not. Lets just wreak havoc on the NHL - cause concussions and injuries whenever theyre in Toronto. Heck go full speed and steamroll a ref and pretend to be sorry. The french ref who calls
Nothing for Bos and everythinf on Leafs lets just go for his knees. Keep putting the puck near him.

If the NHL is gonna single us out - lets just roll with it - at least we will tank and can have Cap to reice a new team with how the refs lean

slightly off topic, but it really annoyed me Marchand going up to the goat accusing him of diving. whether the goat dived or not is neither here nor there, Brad f***ing Marchand accusing anyone of something like that is just too rich for my liking. Does he not know he is the diving, helmet licking (haha) cheat of the league? is his self awareness that low? Like when he beat up a guy for celebrating a goal. If Brad Marchand is the moral authority of the NHL then I want no part of the NHL

If we can't score on the PP what is the point of having more of them that the refs are then going to even up by the end of the game to teams that can actually score on the PP
