Fitz has been interviewed for several GM vacancies recently and is universally considered a future star GM. I can't imagine he'd settle for being John Hynes's assistant. I think this is more of a favor for Ray than anything else.

Wonder if Ray will make the move upstairs and Fitz takes over. Eventually...

We're still a mess in the D-Zone. We still have difficulties setting up in the O-Zone.

The PP looked better. The PK was a ton better. That takes a lot of pressure off of the rest of the game.

Not a pretty one or a dominant one, but better than a loss!

I think you’re right on those points. Hopefully the baby steps we saw are the start of progress on all fronts and not the final product.

We did a better job typing up sticks, breaking up passes. Still a few breakdowns but better overall.

Their PP goal wasn’t even on a real PP setup either  It has looked worse at points this year, but definitely wasn’t actively “good” last night either. Still a ways to go. The PK looked much better though, so that’s encouraging.

Hopefully a lot of monkey were taking off backs last night, PP finally cashing in, Hughes finally getting on the scoresheet, PK potting one even if it was an empty netter, ohh, and the Devils finally getting a W.

Confidence goes a long way.

Sorry, but aside from the first attempt where we couldn't enter the zone, I didn't have a huge issue with our PP. We get good movement and end up with good chances. It just baffles me how we haven't scored more than 1 goal there yet.

Maybe it's the mix of players on each unit, or possibly that we're just looking for the pretty play, but it certainly doesn't look like the worst PP in the league. Not by a long shot.

It is kind of amusing his first point came off of Miles Wood's ass though.

The headline on NHL.com was even funnier :

Wood....off backside.... :naughty::naughty::naughty:

Get hurt blocking a shot, that's really the best thing you can do for a team.

Had a bad turnover in his own end (got stripped of the puck due to dicking around instead of sending it up ahead).

I guess winning cures all ills and creates selective amnesia.

I would not have given him the Jacket.

I would've given Big Mac the jacket.

The worst headline I've ever seen (not hockey related) was a financial publication my GF was working for (she's an editor). It was something in the line of "The chink in China's wall", and it was TOTALLY unintentional. And NO-ONE there caught it till it was published.

Yeah...I get that she was using the term "the chink in the armor" though I begin to wonder if that saying was always racist and referring to Asians in general when it was created?

too bad she didn't say "The hole in China's wall" or "The weakness in China's wall" or something to that effect....

They're middle of the pack in shots for on the 5 on 4 PP. I think there's been some issues with pre-shot movement - Hall's taken some low percentage shots for sure - but it's not like they're not putting the puck where it should go.

We need to cut down on turnovers, especially P.K., Goose and a few other and play physical like they did last night . For the first 6 games they looked small and soft. Last night they finally resembled an NHL team. If they revert back to playing like they did, they have no shot at competing.
